During his youth training camp in Norman, Oklahoma, Baker Mayfield gave his thoughts about his situation with the Browns.
Mayfield made it clear he was frustrated that he wasn’t traded before minicamp, but he knows it’s out of his control.

Another question that fans have been wanting to know was also answered by Baker Mayfield: If Deshaun Watson is suspended, could he be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in 2022? He seemed to shut that idea down quickly.
“No. I think for that to happen there would have to be some reaching out.But we’re ready to move on, I think, on both sides.” – Baker Mayfield when asked if a reconciliation could be reached if Watson had to sit out this season.

In the interview, Baker added comments that he is grateful for his time in Cleveland. There’s been many ups and downs, but he said he learned a lot. He made it clear there is no resentment towards the city of Cleveland, but he still wants to move on.
