The Wisconsin Badgers are going through a tough 2024 campaign. Through their first 10 games they’re 5-5 and just 3-4 in conference play. Their final two games of the season come on the road against Nebraska and at home against Minnesota.
Luke Fickell took over as head coach last season and immediately brought in National Championship aspirations. However, those aspirations have yet to be fulfilled. It will be interesting to see how long Wisconsin sticks with Fickell (if these seasons continue) before they decide he isn’t right for the program.
However, 2025 got a little brighter when Wisconsin landed a huge commitment.
“We Do” Badgers’ Newly Flipped 4 Star Commit Makes Stern Announcement
According to Jarrett Gurrera of Wisconsin Sports Heroics:
The Wisconsin Badgers have made quite the splash after flipping Jaylen Williams away from his Michigan Wolverines commitment.
The Badgers have long pursued multiple players in the 2025 class despite them having named commitments to different schools. The persistence worked for the Wisconsin Badgers when it came to landing Williams, who was eventually convinced enough to jump ship and leave the Wolverines.
Williams is an Illinois native and had been one of the top recruits Michigan had landed in the 2025 class with a four-star rating and a national ranking of 279th.
After the news of the announcement, Williams took to social media:
God had a different plan Respect my decision* https://t.co/pFRCUI7G2D

“Physically, he’s going to fill out when he gets into a college weight program,” Palatine head coach Corey Olson told Rivals.com. “There’s no doubt about it that he could be 290 pounds. He was 280 pounds when he was a freshman.
And he’s leaned out since then, he’s about 245 now. But I don’t doubt he could be a guy you put in a 4i and he could play a B gap, then you could move him to an edge and could be a good edge rusher as well.
So, he’s one of those versatile kids that with all the right training, he’s going to get as big, strong and as fast as he can.
It’s nice to be able to have a piece like him that you can move around and have do so many different things, and not have to sub him out in run situations. He should be a four down guy that can do it all.”
