The Colorado Buffaloes have once again found themselves on the wrong side of the fence after an unfortunate video went viral.
Colorado is currently 7-2 this season, with a potential Big 12 Conference Championship in their sights after previously being thought to be out of reach. However, the success of the Buffaloes has not been without controversy as the team continues to find themselves in precarious situations.
To accurately provide a timeline of what has occurred this season, the bulleted list below contains the incidents that occurred in descending order.
- A Texas Tech ball boy attempts to take a touchdown ball away from the Buffaloes, which resulted in Deion Sanders Jr (A videographer for the program) shoving the ball boy.
- Wide receiver Will Sheppard makes interesting postgame comments towards his former program, the Vanderbilt Commodores. Sheppard stated, “We did not get to do much of this over there” when speaking about a Buffaloes win.
- Quarterback Shedeur Sanders brings the entire offensive line with him to speak with the media after being called out for “selfish” comments regarding the play of his teammates.
- Shedeur Sanders asks the media, “How many times did he (Dylan Raiola) get touched today?” following a loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Sanders was swiftly called out for being a “bad teammate” by not taking any accountability.
- Coach Deion Sanders makes a shocking announcement, exercising a right in his contract to ban a member of the media. Sanders questionably banned a media member for comments he made about the coach, however, other members are still allowed who have published equally as disparaging of pieces.
While all of these incidents for the Colorado Buffaloes also have another side to them, many fans have failed to see that side. The Buffaloes have been under a microscope this year, and small comments that typically make it past fans and media members have been noticed this season.

The most recent incident involves Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Deion Sanders Jr who were all celebrating a touchdown. Shilo returned a fumble for a touchdown on defense with seconds left in the game, and seemingly was walking towards the sideline with the football. A Texas Tech ball boy attempted to snatch the football away from Shilo, but failed and was quickly met with Shedeur and Deion Jr.
Deion Jr shoved the ball boy after Shedeur was briefly arguing with the individual, and then the video quickly cuts off afterwards. Many fans are upset with the fact that Deion Jr both shoved someone and also was able to take the field with the team during the celebration of the touchdown. Deion Jr is not an official member of the program, and teams can face penalties for allowing individuals to celebrate with the team on the field.
Regardless of what occurs involving the Buffaloes doing something “wrong” the team will continue to perform exceptionally well on the field. The Buffaloes aim to do so next game against the Utah Utes, who are in a much different position moving forward this season.
Will the Colorado Buffaloes Finish with a Ten-Win Record?
With the Texas Tech game behind them, the Colorado Buffaloes have three games left this season and have the opportunity to win ten-games this season.
Currently, the idea of winning double-digits is in the favor of the Colorado Buffaloes, with the absolute bottom of the barrel coming up. Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State are three of the worst Big 12 Conference teams and only combine for three conference wins. The Cowboys have not won a conference game this season, and with the way things are going their record will likely stay that way.
The real concerning game for the Colorado Buffaloes moving forward should be the Kansas game for a couple of reasons. While the Jayhawks are the best out of the upcoming opponents for Colorado, they also have the most high-powered offense.
Kansas had a very similar loss to Kansas State and just recently scored 45-points against Iowa State who are supposed to have one of the best defenses in the conference. The Colorado Buffaloes will need to play their best football down the stretch to ensure they secure a double-digit win season.
