The NFL Super Bowl is the biggest game in American football. Each year, millions watch the halftime show for music and fun. Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny performed at Super Bowl LX. His show was mostly in Spanish.
It showed Puerto Rican culture with dancers, a party, and guests like Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Bad Bunny held a football that said “Together We Are America.” The show ended with “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

But the numbers tell a different story. Bad Bunny’s halftime averaged 128.2 million viewers. That is down 4% from Kendrick Lamar’s 133.5 million in 2025. It ranks fourth all-time, behind Lamar, Michael Jackson in 1993, and Usher in 2024.
Breaking: 🚨 Bad Bunny’s horrific halftime show lost over five million viewers from last year’s show with Kendrick Lamar!
This is a major embarrassment for the NFL and a huge victory for Kid Rock and TPUSA! pic.twitter.com/7MyQSv0sSQ

The whole game had 124.9 million viewers, also down from last year. Some say the drop is due to Spanish songs and themes. Critics called it “un-American” and “too woke.”
This drop is seen as a problem for the NFL. The league wants big stars to bring more fans. But Bad Bunny’s show lost over 5 million viewers from the year before. Even with a peak of 137.8 million during the game, the halftime did not set a record.
A win for the alternative show and a major blow to Bad Bunny
At the same time, Turning Point USA made their own “All-American Halftime Show.” It starred Kid Rock with country singers Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. They called it about “faith, family, and freedom.” It was pre-recorded in Atlanta and streamed online.
The show peaked at 6.1 million live viewers on YouTube. Across platforms like YouTube and Rumble, it got about 6.4 million during the halftime. By the next day, total views hit over 19 million on YouTube alone. Turning Point said it reached 20 million across all sites. For a new event, this is a big success. It shows some fans wanted something different.
Kid Rock said his show was “top-notch.” Many tuned out of Bad Bunny and watched this instead. The NFL might learn from this. Fans want choices in halftime entertainment. For football fans, this shows how music and views mix during the Super Bowl.
