Avery Johnson announced he will remain in his home state to play college football for the Kansas State Wildcats. The quarterback declined the opportunity to play at schools such as Washington and Oregon.
Johnson visited Kansas State back in June and knew he wanted to play football for head coach Christopher Klieman’s program. It came down to who wanted him most, and Kansas State won him over.
“Kansas State has always shown that they’ve wanted me the most. I feel like I can achieve all my goals and ultimately get to the next level and develop at Kansas State. I just felt like after putting it into perspective like that, it was a no-brainer.”
-Avery Johnson
