What a year it’s been for the Chargers 2022 season – from all of the injuries, winnable losses against the Jaguars, Seahawks, and Raiders; to finding themselves at 6-6 and on the outside looking in. Miraculously, the Chargers have clinched playoff berth, but that doesn’t mean that the regular season is irrelevant. According to ESPN.com, the Chargers are currently slated as the 7th seed; which means they’ll be stacked against the surging Bengals – who, as we all remember, are just one year removed from their last Super Bowl berth. And while one can understand, and accept, that you’re bound…

In just a matter of weeks, the Chargers playoff odds increase up to 80% from the previous 20-30% they found themselves after 2 consecutive losses. After an incredible win against the Dolphins in prime time, the Chargers found themselves up against an up and down Titans team with one of the best running backs of the past decade – and we all know the mouth-watering matchup Derrick Henry had in front of him. Let’s just say, it was a scary –and incredibly crucial – game for the Chargers. Especially after the Jets had lost, and a Raiders win against the…

ESPN’s NFL power rankings are out. And guess who’s at number 10? The Los. Angeles. Chargers. It only took the Bolts about 10 weeks to get back into the mix, but here they are. Is it false hope? Too little, too late? Aside from the “true”, “ride or die” fans – many Chargers fans had already counted the team out, and were already calling for the heads of Staley and Lombardi. And to their point, justifiably so. The offense had looked atrocious, and the defense – even worse! Schematics were off. Hope was dwindling. Injuries had mounted to a point of…

Ding, ding! Herbert vs Tua: round two. The two franchise QB’s were drafted back to back in 2020, beginning a debate that’s gone back and forth ever since – who’s the better QB? Well, tomorrow night will add to the debate, and I’m all for it. As a Chargers fan, I’ll be honest – when the Bolts drafted the lanky blonde out of Oregon, I thought he was 100% bust material. Even in college, there were many times when Herbert didn’t look that good – and that’s just in the Pac-10, let alone the powerhouse SEC where Tua hailed. Personally,…

While they’re certainly not out, the Chargers playoff hopes diminish thanks to Davante Adams — I mean, the Raiders. Well, really, it’s thanks to the Bolts backup O-lineman, who simply failed their assignment today. But even still, if it weren’t for Davante Adams doing Davante Adams things – the Chargers very likely could’ve won this game, and remained alive and healthy in the playoff hunt. This one hurts. A lot. And yet, at the same time, a huge part of it – like the rest of the season – has been due to… you guessed it, injuries. Herbert can actually sit…

Just when you think it was all over, with only a minute to go – the Chargers keep playoff hopes alive with a gutsy 2-point conversion. While it may seem dramatic, or sensationalist – the reality of the Chargers’ salvation does hold a bit of merit; as a 5-6 record in a Wild Card hunt with two teams who won (Jets, Bengals) becomes a lot harder to do. And let’s call a spade a spade – it was by no means the prettiest of wins for the Bolts. But they won, and that’s all that matters. Games like these (unfortunately) aren’t…

Will Notre Dame upset USC? Well, the answer is much more optimistic now than it was a handful of weeks ago, that’s for sure. Things have been looking good in South Bend, and after what’s been a roller coaster of a year, one last upset against number 5 USC would bring the perfect happy ending. It’s been quite a few years since the “Bush Push” game – which seems to be the last time this game held such worth other than bragging rights and another win tacked on to the ever-evolving rivalry. And yet, while you’d think this game would…

The Chargers season over? Really? At 5-5? Isn’t that a little dramatic? Okay, I’ll admit it, that’s a bit of millenial sensationalism there. But, unfortunately, in today’s NFL where each team seems to have a bevy of talent and a unique skill set of playmakers. Well, with exception to the bottom 5 or so teams (sorry, Texans/Panthers/Bears). If you even inspect the rosters of the worst two teams in the division, and what do you see? Davante Adams, Russell Wilson, Darren Waller, and Jerry Jeudy. Let alone the monster that is the AFC – Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Tua/Tyreek, I’ll…

Ah, Chargers vs Chiefs – plus a good old prime time flex. Sounds like a great Sunday night to me. However, it doesn’t take much research to notice that many pundits are counting the Chargers out. And, rightfully so. What us fans have seen this year hasn’t exactly been the most awe-inspiring. Yet… when you have a generational talent like Justin Herbert behind center – you can’t help but have a shimmer of hope. The only problem is, there’s just as talented a quarterback on the other side. Will the Chargers pull off the upset? That’s a tough one. But…

Here we are, half-way through the season – which means it’s time for a Chargers mid-season outlook. And what a perfect time to do such, after a tough loss on prime time television. However, if there’s one thing Sunday’s defeat taught us, it’s that this team fights – that’s for sure. If you would’ve asked me what I thought about the Chargers’ “heart” in the beginning of the season – the answer would be an expletive-filled rambling. And now, even after a loss (and a LOT more injuries) – the answer’s changed drastically… The irony here, of course, is commending a…
