Last week’s loss is fully behind us, and it’s time to focus on the matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. At Ford Field on Sunday, October 2, the Detroit Lions will look to rebound to an even two-and-two record. After losing their long-time starting quarterback, the Seahawks, as the Lions, find themselves in a transitional year. The Lions haven’t faced Geno Smith in almost eight years, back when Smith was starting for the New York Jets. Not a single player from that 2014 matchup is on the current roster, so Sunday’s game is a chance to start new. With an week…

Looking to start their season with an opening day win, the Lions have to get passed a tough in-conference matchup. These two teams faced off last season, with the Lions receiving a hefty beating. The final score was 44-6 with the Eagles rushing game contributing most to that score-line. Here are my 5 things to note before Sunday’s game: 1. Lions Rushing Defense: In their last matchup, the Eagles dominated on the ground, rushing for 235 yards and four touchdowns. That was without starting…

In week two of NFL preseason action, the Detroit Lions took on the Indianapolis Colts. Entering the matchup with more game-specific preparation, the Lions felt much more confident than they did against the Falcons. During media availability on Friday, Head Coach Dan Campbell said, “It gives us a confidence, but you can feel it in our players. Our players have a confidence, they feel we’re getting better. They feel like we stack up against these guys, we’re not out of place and that we are getting better, and that we can do some things in all three phases. It gives…
