The New York Jets lit the NFL on fire in the spring of 2023 when they traded for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Unfortunately, the hype that surrounded the Jets throughout the offseason and their Hard Knocks documented training camp was greater than their regular season outcome. Rodgers tore his Achilles early in Week One and New York finished 7-10 for the second year in a row. Even before the 2023 NFL season ended, there were plans being laid (or suggested by the media) for how the Jets could better build around Rodgers. While they certainly need more receiving weapons following…

The Green Bay Packers are certainly shedding a great deal of salary cap space as NFL free agency inches closer and closer. Yesterday, news broke that they had released 2021 All-Pro linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, clearing over $10 million of space over the next two seasons. Today, David Bakhtiari announced on social media that his 11-year tenure in Green Bay has come to an end. These moves, which free up close to $25 million in salary cap space this offseason, will undoubtedly be used by Brian Gutekunst to pursue some high-level free agents, something Green Bay is not known to do very often.…

The Green Bay Packers had a very different future in mind when they signed David Bakhtiari to a massive four-year $92 million contract in 2020. At the time of the signing, Bakhtiari was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro well on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Making him one if the highest paid left tackles in the game only made sense. But then Bakhtiari tore his ACL on New Years Eve in 2020. The injury very well have been one of the reasons Green Bay did not appear in the Super Bowl that year…

The Green Bay Packers were one of the most surprising teams in the NFL last season. Jordan Love, who took over as the starting quarterback following the Packers’ trade of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, overcame a slow start to the 2023 season to have the best first season by a starter in Green Bay’s long history. So too, the team’s first and second year pass catchers overcame inconsistent starts to help lead the Packers back to the postseason. The Green Bay defense, however, was terribly inconsistent all season long. What was the most disappointing part of this…

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is truly living his best life. The nine-time Pro Bowler just won his third Super Bowl in three years and has been raking in millions of dollars worth of new endorsement deals. He and his brother, Jason Kelce (who just retired after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles), were recently honored at a Cleveland Cavaliers game where their foundation, the New Heights Schools Foundation, was given a $10,000 donation. Of course, Kelce’s rise in popularity has a great deal to do with his relationship with Taylor Swift, the 14-time Grammy Award winner and…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the talk of the NFL for the past 10 hours. Around midnight early Monday morning, free agent quarterback Russell Wilson revealed that he plans to sign with the Steelers. The nine-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl Champion was released by the Denver Broncos after a tumultuous season with head coach Sean Payton. According to reports, Wilson will be paid $1.2 million by Pittsburgh on his one-year contract with them. This means that Denver will be on the hook for $38 million of Wilson’s salary this season. His $85 million dead cap hit with the…

A year after making headlines for all the wrong reasons regarding player relations with ownership, the Indianapolis Colts are doing right by one of their own. Last offseason, the contract dispute between Colts owner Jim Irsay and All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor left a bitter taste in the mouths of many fans, and highlighted how little NFL teams value running backs. So far this offseason, though, the Colts look like they are rewarding their players for good play. Zaire Franklin, a seventh round pick (235th overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft, did not see the field much outside of special…

The Kansas City Chiefs are back-to-back Super Bowl Champions after their victory in Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers. They were the first team to win two consecutive titles since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in 2003-04 and are looking to become the first team ever to win three Super Bowls in a row (the Green Bay Packers won three straight NFL Championships on two separate occasions). Winning, of course, is hard to do in the NFL, and even though they just won it all, the Chiefs have plenty of work to do in order to be able to compete…

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, unfortunately, has not made any headlines for his play on the field for over a year. Perhaps his most notable recent throw was his final pass as the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, an interception that cost Green Bay a spot in the 2022 NFL Playoffs. Since that play, Rodgers was traded to New York and Jordan Love led the Packers back to the postseason. Of course, there is much more to the situation than just those things. Rodgers tore his Achilles early in Week One in the Jets’ game versus the Buffalo…

The NFL has reaped the benefits of the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift. Ever since the couple made their relationship public last September, a new wave of fans taken a sudden interest in the game. And more interest, of course, means more money. Fortunately for the NFL, the relationship appears to be going strong. In addition to Swift attending 13 Chiefs games this season (that the public is aware of; one coach said she was coming to games before that), Kelce has been flying all over the world…
