The Carolina Panthers drafted former Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral with the 94th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Corral participated in two of the Panthers’ NFL preseason games. He put up 69 yards on a 41.6% completion rating. The rookie quarterback suffered a significant Lisfranc injury against the New England Patriots. The injury is similar to the injury that knocked out former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton for the season a few years back.
