Colorado State 1 – The first year of Jay Norvell’s Colorado State tenure. He was poached by CSU from fellow Mountain West conference opponent Nevada. In total, he had four winning seasons in his five years at Nevada. Jay Norvell is most known for his offensive style predicated on a prolific passing attack. Under his tutelage, former starting QB Carson Strong won back to back Mountain West Player of the Year Awards in 2020 and 2021. 64.1% – The percentage of Passing plays that Nevada ran in 2021 under HC Jay Norvell. As he moves over to CSU, you’d imagine…

In this edition of Lucas’ Locks, I’ll be combing through the Big Ten to find my favorite win total bets. As always, I will only recommend bets that I’d feel strongly enough about to bet my own money on and I will get my win total numbers from BetMGM. Now let’s go get these Big Ten win total locks! Illinois: Over/Under 4.5 Wins Bret Bielema had a solid debut campaign for the Fighting Illini in 2021. He took over a program in rough shape, and was able to string together a 5-7 season despite getting very little from the QB…

Mazi Smith My third and final breakout pick for Michigan’s defense in 2022 is Mazi Smith. Following a good 2021 campaign, Mazi Smith is set for a big year in 2022. Mazi is a total freak of an athlete for his size, as Bruce Feldman recently named him as the #1 athletic freak in all of college football.  Mazi was highly regarded as a recruit, but he had to remake his body and get into shape before he was ever going to be able to make an impact at Michigan. At 6’3″ and 337 lbs., Mazi now moves like someone…

Andrel Anthony My first breakout pick is one of three rising Sophomores who I think will all breakout for the Wolverines in 2022. Andrel Anthony put up very modest stats last year while playing in only 8 games. He caught 12 passes for 248 yards, and 3 TD’s. Anthony was a hidden aspect of Michigan’s 2021 offense, and really showed out in his lone opportunity to be the focal point of the passing attack against Michigan State. He had 6 receptions, 155 yards, and 2 TD’s against MSU’s weak secondary in only his second collegiate game. With that big game,…

This is another edition of Lucas’ Locks, this time looking at my favorite win total bets from the SEC. I only pick the ones that I feel confident in enough to place my own money on, and I get all my win total numbers from BetMGM. Now, let’s go get these locks! Alabama Over/Under 11.5 This is essentially to me, betting on weather or not Bryce Young stays healthy for the full season. Nick Saban recently said “2021 was a rebuilding year,”and I kinda agree with him. With Bryce Young returning at QB, and improved OL, a defense that has…

2021 Season Following a very successful 2021 season, Michigan loses a couple key DB’s from last year’s team. Daxton Hill was drafted to the Cincinnati Bengals in the First Round of the NFL Draft. Brad Hawkins started 31 games in his Wolverine career, so with his departure as well, there’s a lot of experience to replace in the Wolverine secondary, particularly at Safety. However at Cornerback; the Wolverines do bring back two starters in DJ Turner and Gemon Green who could help usher in the newest version of the Michigan secondary entering 2022. 2022 Cornerback Preview At CB, DJ Turner…

For this edition of Lucas’ Locks, I’ll be looking into the ACC. I’ll be choosing only the win total bets that I feel confident enough in to place my own money.  I’ll be taking the win total numbers from BetMGM, but my advice would be to shop around and get the best number you can find. Now let’s get these locks and go win some money! Georgia Tech Over/Under 3.5 I’m going to start out with a negative one, I just don’t see 4 or more wins on this schedule for the Yellow Jackets. They get Western Carolina and Duke…

2021 Season After playing in 50 total games as a Wolverine, departed 5th year Senior Josh Ross leaves a big hole to fill in the middle of the Wolverines defense. He made 24 starts in total, and was a two-time captain and was a two-time All Big Ten team selection. He was a steady presence in the middle of Michigan’s defense for the past several seasons. With him now off to the NFL, who will step up to lead Michigan’s LB unit in 2022? 2022 Season Rising Redshirt Sophomore Nikhai Hill-Green will return with the most experience. In total, he’s…

Who they lose: Following the conclusion of the 2021 season, both Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo declared for the NFL Draft. Aidan Hutchinson ended up going #2 Overall to the Detroit Lions, while David Ojabo went #45 Overall to the Baltimore Ravens. In total, they took with them 97 tackles, 28.5 TFL, 25 sacks, and 7 forced fumbles off the Wolverine defense as they head into 2022. This begs the question, how will the Wolverines replace all that production from their DE position? While there is no way to sugarcoat the losses of both Hutchinson and Ojabo, the cupboard at…

For these bets, I’m only selecting the Big Twelve team win totals that I feel the most confident in. These are ones I feel confident enough in to lay my own money on, and I’ll be using BetMGM for the total numbers. Let’s go get these locks! Iowa State – Over/Under 6.5 This is my favorite play in the big twelve. I’m not always high on Iowa State, but I am especially high on them when they’re being doubted. To me, Matt Campbell is one of the best coaches in the country at developing the players on his roster.…
