LB Grant Morgan was a mainstay of Arkansas’ defense for the past two seasons. Across 2020 and 2021, Morgan accumulated 211 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss. Morgan possesses is excellent at reading defenses and getting past defenders to swarm to the ball. 5. 2010 Knile Davis Davis was a revelation during Arkansas’ 2010 season. He put up 1,282 yards rushing on just 204 carries and amassed 13 rushing touchdowns. 5. 2009 Ryan Mallett Coming out of Texarkana, Texas, Ryan Mallett originally elected to play for Michigan under head coach Lloyd Carr. But after the 2007 season, Mallett decided to transfer from Michigan after Rich Rodriguez took over at the helm. U.S Senators Tommy Tuberville and Joe Manchin are trying to make legislation to regulate NIL compensation in college football. On August 3, both Tuberville and Manchin penned a letter to SEC commissioner Greg Sankey. Arkansas redshirt junior S Jalen Catalon and fifth-year senior LB Bumper Pool were named to the Bednarik Award Watch List. The Bednarik award is given to the best defensive player in college football each season. Jalen Catalon was named first team All-SEC in 2020 (AP, Coaches) and was on his way to similar honors in 2021 before getting injured. Meanwhile, Bumper Pool received second team All-SEC honors (AP, Coaches) in 2021 and ranked third in the SEC in total tackles.
