Is Eberflus the cause of the Bears biggest issue? This season we have already heard several players quoted on how coach Eberflus’s camp is vastly different then Matt Nagy’s. Darnell Mooney, and Jaylon Johnson to name a few. How in the world could that be a bad thing? Nagy was soft As we hear more on how Matt Nagy ran his training camp it sounds more like a 6th grade summer camp then an NFL training camp. That combined with sitting players the entire preseason it’s evident Nagy wasn’t getting his men prepared properly. This isn’t an issue with new…

Four Bears you should keep an eye tonight in Seattle. It’s dress rehearsal number two. After tonight we will know just a tad more on how the 2022 Bears are going to look. You should be keeping an eye on everyone, but these four in particular, and I will tell you why. Braxton Jones We heard good things about Jones all the way up until training camp. Many had him penciled in as a starter including me. Then the Bears signed Riley Reiff and the Braxton Jones talk faded. Well Braxton Jones hasn’t faded. He’s had a great camp so…

Jay Cutler is the best Bears quarterback all-time, and it’s really not even close. Bears fans love to debate this topic. It’s a pretty short list of basically three guys. Jay Cutler, Jim McMahon, and Sid Luckman. When you step back and look at it however, the answer is obvious. Sid Luckman The people that make the argument for Luckman, act as if they have watched every game he’s ever played. Pleading their case of what a great passer he was, how he could run. I doubt most of these people have ever looked at the numbers. They go by…

Roquan Smith may want to read up on Wilber Marshall. There is no defense In NFL history that is better known then the 85 Bears. Packed with personalities and play makers and one of them who fit perfectly was second year linebacker Wilber Marshall. If you’re not a die hard Bears fan you may not know Marshall’s story. Roquan you may want to read this. 84 Bears Even though the 84 Bears lost to the 49ers in the NFC championship that year it was clear they were going to be a force in 85. It was no secret that defense…

Observations from Bears Chiefs game. While it can be difficult to make quality observations that mean anything in the first preseason game, there were a few. Over all I think it was a positive game for the Bears. Not because they won. A preseason win has about as much value as a fart in a wet paper bag. It was positive because some players that could have key roles this season showed us flashes. So just a few quick notes from the game. Receiving core It certainly appears there is a little depth at the Receiver position. I’m not saying…

One Bears second year player is taking advantage of injuries. With the Bears currently down four wide receivers due to Injury it’s a golden opportunity for someone to show the new coaching staff what they can do. It seems Dazz Newsome maybe taking that opportunity. He’s been making some plays when the Bears are in desperate need of receiver help. Razzle dazzle Newsome was a sixth round pick of the Bears last year. With the offense sputtering last season Newsome didn’t really see the field until late in the season. He didn’t put up big numbers when he played but…

How will the Bears handle Roquan Smith’s trade request? A couple weeks ago I wrote an article touching on this possibility, if interested you can find that here. So let’s discuss what the Bears should do and what the most likely outcomes are. Ryan poles first test The moment Poles took the job as Bears gm he knew this day would come. When I look at this situation from then until now, it seems like Poles may have had plans to trade Roquan all along. As soon as free agency hit Poles ran out and signed linebacker Nicholas Morrow immediately,…

No! The Chicago Bears will not sign Odell Beckham Jr. nor should they! With the recent injuries to Bears newcomers n’Keal Harry, and Byron Pringle, I can already hear Bears fans in that Chicago accent ” Hey poles, go get that Beckham Jr. guy” No! So let’s nip it in the bud right now. This isn’t Madden 23. This is real life. Reason one you don’t want him. While he’s not as bad as some receivers in the past, Beckham would be a cancer here. The first time Beckham felt like Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy wasn’t getting him the…

The Chicago Bears have a secret weapon no one is talking about. With camp being dominated by the stories of Roquan Smith’s contract and what is going on with Teven Jenkins, some things have slid under the radar. One of those being sixth round pick Trestan Ebner, and he is electrifying. From the Bears to the Bears Ebner was taken in the sixth round of this years draft. He played his college ball at Baylor, who also happens to be named the Bears. Whenever you hear sixth round pick, you tend to write a player off already. The running back…

Every year around this time you here the same old debate. How much should your starters play in the preseason? There are a lot of variables to consider with each player, and team when asked this question. There may not be a right answer, but there certainly are wrong ones. Coach Eberflus is taking the right approach with preseason. Everyone needs the warm up. The NFL is unmatched when it comes to speed, and intensity in team sports. Some of the best athletes in the world are flying around smashing into each other. I don’t care how many years someone…
