Earlier this week ESPN began to name their choices for the best players in NFL history at each defensive position. They had previously announced the best ever at every offensive position. As the voters reached the edge rushing position, it was clear that Lawrence Taylor was a favorite. He received 40 of the 50 votes (80%), with voters also considering Reggie White. Taylor played for the New York Giants from 1981-1993 and in that time played in 184 games, recorded 142 sacks with nine interceptions and was a Pro Bowl selection ten times. Rookie of the Year Taylor came into…

Kenny Golladay had an unimpressive 2021 after signing a four-year, $72 million contract. He finished the year with just 37 receptions, 521 yards and no touchdowns. However, he enters the 2022 campaign with new expectations. It will be a new offense, with a new coach and hopefully some healthy complimentary weapons around him. Pro Football Focus also named Golladay a potential fantasy sleeper at the receiver position. Offensive System New head coach, Brian Daboll, succeeded using the hitch route during his time with the Buffalo Bills. In the last two seasons, the offense gained 1,616 yards on 162 receptions on…

The New York Giants had rookies report last week and the rest of the roster will arrive on July 26. There may not be much pressure on the coaches and front office, but it is a different story for the players. It does not matter if you are a rookie or a veteran, there are expectations to perform. If you do not, then you will get cut. For the Big Blue, there are a lot of players to keep an eye on during camp for good reasons and for bad. Daniel Jones This one is obvious. Daniel Jones is entering…

The New York Giants rookies reported to East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday as they officially start training camp. Despite the first day being mostly “classroom instruction”, it wont stop the fans from getting excited. The rest of the roster will report on Tuesday, July 26. In addition, the Giants will open 11 practices to the fans. This is the first time since 2019 that they will allow fans in to watch practices. Thoughts From The Fans I think that the fans have a sense of cautious optimism and limited expectations for this team. The Giants have questions at every…

The New York Giants secondary is one of the many position groups that has many questions. The G Men moved on from their top cornerback, James Bradberry, in a salary cutting move. In addition, Logan Ryan has moved on to play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that leaves a lot of inexperience in the secondary. However, one play that is looking to make an impact is Xavier McKinney. Entering Year Three McKinney played a significant role for the Giants in his first two seasons. In his rookie year he played in just six games after a foot injury forced…

There has been a lot said about the New York Giants running back situation. There are a bunch of question marks around star running back, Saquon Barkley. Can he stay healthy? Will he be a consistent three or four yards per carry kind of back? Can he replicate his rookie year? I believe that even if the answer to all of those questions are true, his days as a Giant are numbered. What if he has a bad season? By bad season, I am referring to health and production. If he has another ankle injury that lingers, or a more…

General Manager Joe Shoen and head coach Brian Daboll have done a complete shake up of the room. It started with moving on from Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph. This means that the Giants do not have any tight ends that finished last season on the roster. On the roster currently, Big Blue has six tight ends signed. The main names to look at are, Jordan Akins and Ricky Seals-Jones arrive as…

Since the New York Giants won the Super Bowl in 2011, they have been missing talent at both sides of the line. The offensive line could not open up running lanes or protect the quarterback. The defensive line could not stop the run or impact the opposing quarterback. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Giants made two picks in the top-10, starting with edge rusher out of Oregon, Kayvon Thibodeaux. They followed that with offensive tackle, Evan Neal, out of Alabama. The Giants want both players to excel, but if they needed one of the two players to make an…
