Been a Bears fan all my life and enjoy speaking about them.

Now that the Bears have finally played in their first game of the 2022-2023 season. Let’s look at the best and worst of the Chicago Bears’ preseason week one. The Best Offense The best of the offense in the 1st preseason game hands down is Tajae Sharpe. Sharpe made several acrobatic catches including a one-handed grab along the sidelines. The Bears receiving corps outside of Darnell Mooney is a big question mark. There are even more questions since many of the presumed starters are down with injuries. Through Sharpe stepping up there is an answer to the question of who…

Now that Roquan Smith has demanded a trade the flurry of what if trade scenarios are pouring in from all corners of the NFL landscape. Fans, writers, personalities all have a trade they envision. Trading Roquan Smith won’t be easy. There are three major hurdles for a potential Smith trade. The Bears Need To Agree The first and frankly easiest hurdle is the Bears need to agree to trade Smith. Even though he has asked for a trade and has bashed the new Poles Administration that doesn’t mean all is lost. Players who have asked for trades many times end…

Is David Montgomery on his way out of Chicago? The answer may be yes. Bears fans will not want to hear this, but unfortunately it could happen. The issue isn’t whether Montgomery is good or won’t be an important part of the offense. The issue is will Ryan Poles pay Montgomery. David Montgomery is in the 5th and final year of his rookie contract, and will need to be paid before the start of next season. If Poles won’t give Montgomery a new contract he will become an unrestricted free agent and can sign with whomever he wishes. Assuming Poles…

Jaquan Brisker will holdout from the beginning of Chicago Bears training camp. The key addition to the Bears secondary still has not signed his rookie deal. According to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times, the issue is the amount of guaranteed money in the 3rd year of the contract. The four year total of the contract will be around seven million dollars. As part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and NFLPA all rookie contracts have a cap. The issue is that on average only around 50% of a rookie’s contract is guaranteed. Defensive Back Jalen Pitre,…

According to Crain’s Chicago a Mayoral Committee is set to propose a feasibility analysis for a $1.5 billion Dome for Soldier Field. This is likely a last ditch effort to keep the Chicago Bears in the city of Chicago. The fight to keep the Bears in Chicago began earlier in the year when they entered into a purchase agreement for the now closed Arlington Racetrack in Arlington Heights Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. As a result, the site is widely believed to be the place for a new stadium. Although, the Bears have not yet confirmed they are moving out…

It seems the consensus around the NFL analyst community is that the Chicago Bears will be one of the worst teams in the 2022 season. Their reasonings range from the perceived poor state of the Bears’ roster to questions about the Bears’ starting quarterback Justin Fields. In fact one of the most heavily betted odds is that the Chicago Bears will finish with less than 6.5 wins. Caesar’s Sports Book reports that 95% of the money flowing into the season win total line for the Bears is for the under 6.5 wins. Regardless of what analysts or bettors think the…

A recent Sports Illustrated article (Here) mentions a possible trade for Robert Quinn between the Chicago Bears and the LA Rams. The Chicago Bears are facing a tough question with Quinn as he seemingly is holding out from mandatory team activities. Both he and the Chicago Bears have said he will be a Chicago Bear this season, but obviously something isn’t right. The fact is Quinn is on the wrong side of 30 on a rebuilding team, so his long term value isn’t there. If a good trade offer comes in the Chicago Bears need to take it. That’s where…
