The Ohio State Buckeyes win on opening night, defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 21-10 at Ohio Stadium.  The Bucks struggled early but were able to find their rhythm when it mattered, scoring key second half touchdowns to come away with the victory. Early Struggles The night opened with the Irish starting their first drive on their own 15 yard line.  On the first play from scrimmage, Irish QB Tyler Buchner connected with WR Lorenzo Styles who took it down to the Buckeye 31 yard line.  An unfortunate personal foul penalty on the same play moved the ball into the…

ESPN’s college football analyst Desmond Howard has done it again.  The former Michigan wide receiver appears to be on a mission to rid himself of all credibility.  Either that or he has determined to be “sensational” in order to put himself on the media radar.  If it’s the latter, he may need to examine his strategy, as stooping to outrageous comments only wears on the public. His latest comments about C.J. Stroud were the most recent in a long line of ridiculous blunders or statements that he has made. Desmond Howard in 2019 Going back to 2019, Howard made an…

The Outland Trophy.  It is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.  First awarded in 1946 to George Conner of Notre Dame, its aim was to give the recognition that all guards and tackles deserve.  The last Ohio State Outland winner was Orlando Pace in 1996.  Here is a look at the two Buckeyes who are on this year’s watchlist for the coveted award. OT Paris Johnson Jr. Last season found Paris Johnson Jr. playing at right guard.  He excelled at guard in spite of the fact that his natural position is at tackle.  In fact, according to…
