I love sports! I love athletics and I love recreation. I cover the Miami Hurricanes, FIU Panthers and FAU Owls. I will talk about the obvious and paint a picture for you to give your takes as well. Let's chop it up and enjoy sports together!

Mario Cristobal is rebuilding the program his way. Players that didn’t like his coaching style are leaving and new ones are arriving. They have lost 17 players to the transfer portal. But, yesterday they were able to get the #4 ranked early signing class in the nation. It is a positive for a football program in need of some. The 1st phase of the transfer portal isn’t over yet but 17 players is a lot. Their net gain of players is in plus territory and no doubt will be serious upgrades from the previous roster. Players that had enough of…

The New Orleans Bowl ended with Western Kentucky running South Alabama out of the Superdome. The Hilltoppers scored 31 points in the 1st half and beat South Alabama 44-23 in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Their game plan was perfectly executed and was “lightning fast” as they scored on 3 of their first 4 possessions. South Alabama was “not ready for primetime” as they were constantly caught off-guard and unprepared. Austin Reed and his running mates, Malachi Corley, Dalvin Smith and Jalen Hall looked as if they were running a fast break in a basketball game. New Orleans bowl…

Western Kentucky though, now has the #9 ranked offense in the NCAA FBS. See the rankings here. Quarterback Austin Reed is everything to Western Kentucky’s offense. He did a 180 degree about face this week as he declared for the transfer portal and then decided to return. The Jaguars have a solid defense and have a pretty good offense, ranked #40th in the FBS. Will the Jaguar…

The Bahamas Bowl was awesome! UAB outlasted Miami Ohio in a very competitive game. Jermaine Brown Jr. scored his second touchdown with almost no time left to beat Miami-Ohio, 24-20. Brown started the bowl game because Conference USA Offensive player of the year, DeWayne McBride opted out of the bowl game. UAB looked to be the more superior team in the matchup as I write in the preview article here. Miami-Ohio showed that their team is more than their record by playing spirited defense. UAB started Bahamas Bowl strong UAB was up 10-0 on Miami (OH) and the game looked…

The Duluth Trading Cure Bowl finished and the Troy Trojans won. The Trojans were the top defense in the Sun Belt Conference, which really didn’t mean much. UTSA was the ninth ranked offense in the entire FBS. That fact says a lot. I wrote in the preview article here that the game would be too close to call but UTSA should score. The Troy football team showed in the game that they are more of a football program than their record. The San Antonio report called this game “the battle of the defenses,” Read their article here. As famous ESPN…

FIU football has lost a great in the transfer portal. Tyrese Chambers entered the portal with his remaining year of eligibility. Other notable losses are linebacker Gaethan Bernadel and tight end Rivaldo Fairweather. The team hadn’t been able to win a game against an FBS opponent since defeating the University of Miami in 2018 but this season it went 4-8.  They had a great rebuilding season (if there ever can be a “great rebuilding season.”) It is a definite fact that schools will lose players to the transfer portal but FIU didn’t need to lose these. Head Coach Mike MacIntyre…

The stadium was named after Bahamian athlete, Thomas Robinson who was the sole representative of the Bahamian Olympic delegation at four Olympiads. Let’s preview the Duluth Trading Cure Bowl between the Texas San Antonio Roadrunners and the Troy Trojans. It is a heavyweight matchup of mid-major conference teams that have dominated their competition this season. The two teams both have 10 game winning streaks which includes the regular season and their conference championships. The teams have star skill players–UTSA quarterback Frank Harris and Troy running back Kimani Vidal. The teams are ranked right behind one another in the AP poll with UTSA at #22 and Troy at #23. announced his return to UTSA for one more year this week after they won…

Tom Herman is the new head coach at FAU. The National search for FAU didn’t take too long after Willie Taggart’s end of season firing. As per an ESPN article, FAU Athletic Director Brian White said that Herman was the top candidate after several discussions. Herman comes off of a judgemental firing at the University of Texas, where fans didn’t like the direction of the team and the athletic director “double clutched” keeping him long term. He is very early in his coaching career and is getting this second chance at FAU. A look at his coaching history shows great…

FIU and Middle Tennessee played a great game on Saturday. Middle Tennessee won and has had a great season. FIU lost but showed everyone watching that they are a well-coached team. All information on paper seemed, as if Middle Tennessee was going to put up 50 or 60 on the Panthers. But as famous ESPN original Chris Berman has said, “That’s why we play the games.” FIU loses a starter FIU’s starter for the entire season, Grayson James had a thigh bruise injured a week ago and the injury hadn’t healed. At 2pm, Coach MacIntyre got the news and turned…
