IOL Cole Hutson This was my favorite player from the 2022 OL haul. Cole Hutson’s high school film is just him flipping sorry little kids on their necks. It’s fabulous. No, really, check it out. He was the only early enrollee of the OL, so word is he’s getting a chance to start right away. I believe he is up to that task, and the coaches seem to as well. So, what is his background, how does he win, and where will football take Cole Hutson? High School and Recruiting Hutson attended Frisco High School in Frisco, TX. He was…

IOL Devon Campbell Devon Campbell is the second highest rated OL commit in Texas history. He committed late in the process, and the commitment wrapped the most beautiful bow around the historic 2022 OL haul for the Longhorns. He was recently spotted starting at RG, so is that something we’ll see early and often this season? What does Campbell bring on the field, what is his background, and where will football lead this young man?  High School and Recruiting Campbell played in high school at Bowie High School in Arlington, TX. He was rated as the 10th overall player in…

OT Cameron Williams This may be the biggest human to ever step on the 40 Acres. Listed, as an 18 year old freshman, at 6’7” 374 pounds. Holy. Williams was, quite literally, a huge pull in the historic 2022 OL class. In a few years when we Texas fans revisit this class, we will all think, “Thank you Mario Cristobal for taking that Miami job.” As that is the reason both Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams are at Texas today.  High School and Recruiting Williams comes to UT by way of Duncanville High School in Duncanville, TX. He was rated…

OT Christian Jones Christian Jones is a 5th year OL that has started 22 games for the Longhorns. He started every game at left tackle in 2021, a season in which the Texas OL struggled mightily. Now, Jones wasn’t the whole reason the OL was bad, but he certainly did his part. However, it was his first year in a new system, so there is a ton of room for growth. Kyle Flood has proven to be one of the best OL developers in the nation, so hopefully he can help Jones reach his peak potential. High School and Recruiting:…

OT Kelvin Banks When Texas received the commitment from Kelvin Banks the entire Texas fanbase went nuts. He was a must get recruit for OC/OL Coach Kyle Flood, and although it didn’t go according to plan, it ended the way we wanted. All reports out of camp are saying Banks looks phenomenal and will probably be the starting LT come week one. So with that said let’s get into his background.  High School and Recruiting: Kelvin Banks played at Summer Creek High School in Humble, TX. He finished the cycle ranked as the 33rd overall player and the number three…

TE Jahleel Billingsley The former Alabama tight end, Jahleel Billingsley, found his way to Austin this offseason. There, he gets to team back up with former offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. Under Sark, Billingsley had his most productive season as a sophomore in 2020. Where he posted 18 catches for 287 yards and 3 TDs. Not to mention the nearly 16 ypc. Jahleel will make some big plays in 2022, so let’s break him down. High School and Recruiting: Jahleel Billingsley was rated as the 308th overall player in his class, and the 11th ranked TE. He committed to Alabama over…

TE Ja’Tavion Sanders Ja’Tavion Sanders was the last big pull from the Herman administration in Austin, and if there’s anything to appreciate him for, it’s this kid. Sanders decided to stick it out when Herman was fired and replaced with Sarkisian, and now he will reap the benefits. Sarkisian loves to use his TE’s, and this is the most special one he’s had. 2022 will be a huge year for Sanders, and I can’t wait to see it.  High School and Recruiting: Ja’Tavion Sanders was very highly rated coming into college. He was ranked as the number one ATH and…

WR Brenen Thompson Brenen Thompson was one of my favorite players from the 2021 high school class. His top end speed is absurd, and I am glad it’s on my favorite team. Coach Sark continues to show us that he cares for speed more than size at the skill positions, and Thompson is no different. He is small, but he can fly. So, what does 2022 have prepared for the speedy freshman? High School and Recruiting: Thompson was rated as the number 20 WR in the 2022 class, and the number 131 player overall. He was a killer on the…

WR Tarique Milton One of the most under appreciated pulls out of the portal this offseason comes in the form of Tarique Milton. Milton was a productive player early on at Iowa State before battling injuries. He fits the mold of the WRs Coach Sark has proven to target, so I expect to see Milton carve out a role. How big will it be? Remains to be seen. However, with the season quickly approaching, we’ll quickly find out what 2022 has in store for Tarique. High School and Recruiting: Tarique Milton was not very highly regarded out of high school.…
