Syracuse quarterback and senior team captain Garrett Shrader underwent a successful procedure for an injury to his right arm that will cause him to miss spring practice, the school’s athletic program announced late Monday. The dual-threat signal-caller has been productive the past two seasons as a starter, throwing for more than 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushing for 1,234 yards and 23 more scores. “I’m disappointed to miss the rest of the spring, but looking forward to rehabbing and getting ready for this upcoming season,” Shrader said in a school press release. Mike Sheehan, listed as San Antonio’s General Manager and Vice-President of Business/Event Operations, was let go late Tuesday, news that was confirmed by the XFL with multiple sources. After North Dakota State advanced out of December’s FCS National Semifinals into the National Championship game in Texas, All-American lineman and big-time NFL Draft Prospect Cody Mauch was handed a nearby violin. The shootings of three members of its football team have led its school to change plans as Virginia cancels its second straight football game. Both schools and the ACC announced the news on Monday evening, releasing this statement: “The ACC and Virginia Tech continue to support UVA following the devastating tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of three members of the Cavalier football team – Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, and injuries to students Mike Hollins (also a Virginia football student-athlete) and Marlee Morgan.” The game was scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 26.
