Chip Kelly is now on board for four more years at UCLA, a position that head coaches and U.S. Presidents both envy. He just signed a two-year extension until 2027, adding to the previous contract that took him through 2025. The accomplished college head coach, who also has four years of NFL head coaching experience with the Eagles and 49ers, has guided the Bruins to two straight winning seasons and qualified for two straight bowl appearances after the program hadn’t had a winning year in five successive campaigns. “I am excited about our football program under the leadership of Coach…

Below is a look at a couple of G5 products that turned heads on Thursday, with more to come over the next few days. We’ll have a final top 10 after all positions have gone…

The possible devilish explanation goes back many centuries (tongue in cheek). Why would the story of Florida Gators quarterback starters since 1990 be any different? There seems to be a Jekyll and Hyde thing happening with Florida Gators football since 1990. Or is it something else? Steve Spurrier came back to his alma mater, the University of Florida, in Dec. 1989. He appears to have made a pact with you know who (the guy who resides in the uber-warm nether regions of the underworld). My guess is, the old ball coach said the following: “Give me 20 seasons of good…

With Will Levis currently impressing NFL scouts, the big question beginning with Monday’s spring practice is — who will replace the prolific Kentucky quarterback? Well, N.C. State transfer Devin Leary is healed up enough from a pectoral injury to make a go of it, and he could be a massive addition to the Wildcats. Leary has one year of eligibility remaining after starting for multiple seasons at N.C. State. Leary is the clear favorite to win the starting job and will join 2022 reserve quarterbacks Destin Wade, Kaiya Sheron, and Deuce Hogan in the QB room. GRIDIRON HEROICS: College football…

North Carolina’s addition of veteran NFL coach Freddie Kitchens should make Tar Heels fans smile. He comes over to the ACC after a short stint at South Carolina as a senior staff analyst in 2022, and he will replace John Lilly as the run-game coordinator and tight ends coach for the Tar Heels. McGovern will remain on staff as a director of football administration. COLLEGE AND PRO COVERAGE: GridironHeroics “We are excited to add D’Anton to…

With the NFL Combine cranking up this week, the big decisions are being made: “Will I or won’t I do all of the meat market stuff while I’m here in Indianapolis?” Alabama quarterback Bryce Young — the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner — has opted out of all throwing drills. He will instead throw at the Alabama on-campus Pro Day on March 23. Healing up from injuries for another month was the reason given to NFL.com insiders, they reported Monday. But there are undoubtedly other reasons beyond an extra month of recovery. Young tossing the ball around for the first time…
