,The deadline to reduce rosters to 53 was 4pm eastern on Tuesday.  The Raiders made several moves to get to 53. This will not be the final decision on the roster, some notable moves were made; They traded CB Trayvon Mullen to Arizona for a conditional late rd draft pick and combined with a mild surprise release of Darius Phillips, the new regime has completely reconstructed the corner back room and more moves should be expected soon. Here is what else caught my attention in my Raiders 53 man roster initial reaction. Alex Leatherwood The Alex Leatherwood RT experiment was…

The Raiders wrapped up the preseason with a visit from the Patriots Friday night. The defense forced a 3 and out vs the Patriots starters highlighted by a Malcom Koonce sack. The offense came out and quickly marched down the field with a big play from Jesper Horstead down the seam for 30 yards. However the first drive stalled as has been the case this preseason and the Raiders took an early 3-0 lead. After a Luke Masterson interception the Raiders added a Zamir White touchdown. The 10-0 was more impressive because it was the Patriots starters versus the Raiders…

Much attention has been paid to the AFC West this off-season and rightfully so.  With everyone making predictions the opinions are all over the place. One thing consistent across media platforms is Derek Carr is the 4th best QB in the division. Mahomes is at worst the 2nd best QB in the league behind Aaron Rodgers.  Justin Herbert is the media darling and the betting favorite for the MVP.  Russell Wilson has quite the resume and a fresh start could be exactly what he needed.  For Derek Carr it’s simple,  no need to worry about career achievements or hype just…

Despite converting a couple of 3rd downs the drive stalled and the 15 play drive only produced a Carlson field goal. The first quarter was all Raiders while Minnesota dominated the second. In a quickly moving game the second half featured multiple scores with the final score being Las Vegas 26 and Minnesota 20. Here is what stood out from Sunday afternoons game at Allegiant Stadium in…

On this Hall of Fame weekend it is fun to look ahead to who is eligible to be enshrined.  It’s also a time to look at some players that may have missed the cut for one reason or another. The Raiders have a few players on that list. With a storied history and some of the most colorful personalities, it’s easy to overlook a player or two. One player who has missed the cut over the years is former Raiders Guard Steve Wisniewski.  It’s simple, Steve Wisniewski belongs in the Hall of Fame and here is why. Awards Wisniewski was…

After a weather delay, the NFL season kicked off Thursday night in Canton Ohio. The crowd was overwhelmingly silver and black to welcome Coach Josh McDaniels and his Raiders back to the Hall of Fame city. A few starters got playing time while most sat out the first preseason game. I’ll take a look at what stood out in my Hall of Fame Game review. Running Game Josh Jacobs surprisingly started the game for the Raiders and played a decent amount. Jacobs had 5 rushes for 30 yds and added 2 receptions for 14 yds. Josh looked explosive and determined…
