The Los Angeles Chargers turned in an absolutely awful and injury riddled performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday afternoon at Sofi Stadium, losing 38-10. The Chargers fell behind early after an interception on their second possession that put them behind 6-0. By the time Justin Herbert got the offense going, the Chargers were already down 13-0. With the Chargers getting the ball to start the second half 16-7, it seemed as if LA still had a decent shot to pull of the comeback. However, the Chargers managed to do nothing with their opening possession of the second half and…

The 25th ranked Oregon Ducks defeated the 12th ranked BYU Cougars soundly Saturday afternoon at Autzen Stadium by a score of 41-20. In fact, the final score may be closer than what much of the game felt like, as the Ducks at one point had a 38-7 lead before inserting second stringers into the game. Now three games into the season, Oregon stands at 2-1 with two very dominant wins and one ugly loss. Here are three things that this game told us about the Oregon Ducks. This Oregon Offensive Line is Good The Ducks ran all over BYU the…

The #11 Oregon Ducks lost to the #3 Georgia Bulldogs 49-3 Saturday afternoon in Atlanta. Oregon fell behind early after being forced to punt on their first drive. The Bulldogs then put together an impressive first drive to take a quick 7-0 lead. After back to back drives with careless interceptions by Oregon QB Bo Nix, Georgia responded on each possession by adding to their lead to gain a 21-0 advantage. One of those Georgia drives featured a spectacular hurdle by tight end Darnell Washington. That drive also ended in an easy walk in TD by QB Stetson Bennett IV…

Since the college football playoff began to serve as the method of crowing a national champion in division 1 football, only 13 different teams have made up the field. Alabama has made it to the playoff 7 out of 8 times. Ohio State and Oklahoma have each made it 4 times and Clemson has made it 6 out of 8 times. The lack of parity in college football has been blatant the last few years, which makes it easier to know who the real contenders really are before the season even starts. I believe there are about 8 teams who…

The Chargers suffered their second straight loss of the preseason on Saturday night at home vs. the Dallas Cowboys. In a game in which starters didn’t play for either team, the Chargers struggled to keep pace with Dallas and fell behind 29-10 at the half. The Cowboys never allowed for the game to get much closer and ended up with a 32-18 victory. Here are some takeaways for the Chargers from a game that ultimately won’t mean much for either team. Defensive depth could be an issue for LA For the second straight week, the Chargers put up a so-so…

Only one Oregon Duck has been named to ESPN’s preseason top 100 college football player list. Linebacker Noah Sewell got the nod, coming in at 17 on the list. Sewell has been a defensive standout thus far in two seasons at Oregon. Sewell has anchored a linebacker group that has seen many injuries during his tenure at Oregon, with talented recruit Justin Flowe missing significant time the last two seasons. The snub to other Oregon players from the top 100 list comes as a bit of a surprise. Oregon has a very talented roster by consensus that includes both veteran…

The Oregon Ducks have been incorporating Polynesian culture into their program for several years now. From Oregon legends such as Halotin Ngata and Marcus Mariota to the new Ohana uniforms worn by the team in the past two seasons, the Ducks have embraced Polynesian culture. It’s no surprise that five players on Oregon’s roster were named to the Polynesian player of the year award watch list. Defensive tackle Popo Aumavae, linebacker Noah Sewell, linebacker Mase Funa, defensive lineman Taki Taimani, and offensive lineman Malaesala Amuavae-Lalu were all named to the watch list for the Ducks. Noah Sewell could be the…

The Los Angeles Chargers opened up the preseason with a 29-22 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. In a back and forth game in which neither teams starters played in, a few players stood out for the Chargers. Chase Daniel QB Chase Daniel played a solid game after getting the nod at QB Saturday evening. Daniel threw for 117 yards, completed 11 out of 17 passes, and threw 2 touchdowns for a QB rating of 123.9. Daniel’s performance likely solidifies any doubt that he would be the backup option behind starter Justin Herbert. Easton Stick also saw game action for…

The Los Angeles Chargers come into the 2022-23 season with playoff or bust expectations. Many NFL analysts are even picking them to win the division and be in super bowl contention this season. While the team certainly has the talent to be in the mix, this is a Chargers team that still hasn’t made the playoffs since 2018-19 and historically has bad luck with talented teams. The Chargers also play in perhaps the toughest division in the NFL in the AFC west, and also play the NFC West to add to the difficulty of their 2022-23 schedule. I decided to…
