The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to make a huge jump from where they were during the 2023 season. Heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Falcons are hoping to get into the playoffs.
Kirk Cousins was the biggest addition during the offseason and certainly gives the Falcons a better chance of accomplishing those goals. Raheem Morris was also brought in to be the team’s new head coach.
A new era of football is beginning in Atlanta. They have a lot more talent on their roster than they did last season and a fresh coaching staff and direction. Things seem to be heading in the right direction.
All of that being said, the Atlanta Falcons could still look to improve their roster. Perhaps a trade opportunity will arise that they can pursue to get better.
Atlanta Falcons Urged To Pursue Huge Trade with New England Patriots
Blogging Dirty has suggested a big-time trade with the Patriots to improve the Falcons’ pass-rush. They think that Matt Judon could be a good fit.
“This move would slide Lorenzo Carter and Trice into rotational roles while also giving everyone a leader and mentor in the room. Landing Judon would make everyone feel significantly better about this defense.”
Judon has been a major pass-rushing threat throughout his NFL career. With the Patriots, he has been arguably their best player and a major leader in the locker room.
During the 2023 season with New England, Judon ended up playing in just four games. He racked up 13 tackles and four sacks.
Back in 2022, however, Judon played an entire season and put together big numbers. He ended up with 60 total tackles to go along with 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and three defended passes.
Those numbers would be huge for the Atlanta Falcons’ defense. They need more pass-rushing and he would be an elite addition to help fix that need.
While there is no guarantee that Judon will even be available, the Falcons should monitor his status. If the Patriots are open for business, the Falcons should be on the phone. Judon would be a perfect fit and would take the Atlanta defense to another level.
