While the Atlanta Falcons have been doing good so far, there’s always a way for them to become better before the playoffs. According to an NFL analysis by Bleacher Report, they can achieve that feat if they trade for New York Giants’ Azeez Ojulari.
As the Atlanta Falcons enter Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season, they find themselves ranked eighth in the power rankings, boasting a solid 4-2 record. This marks a significant improvement for the franchise, showcasing their potential to compete in the competitive NFC South.
Under the leadership of quarterback Desmond Ridder, the Falcons have developed a dynamic offense. Ridder’s ability to extend plays and connect with key targets like Drake London and Kyle Pitts has added depth to their passing game. Meanwhile, the running game, anchored by Bijan Robinson, remains a formidable force, allowing Atlanta to control the tempo and keep opposing defenses on their toes.
Defensively, the Falcons have shown resilience, particularly in their ability to create turnovers and apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The defensive line has been a standout, making it challenging for offenses to establish a rhythm. However, consistency in the secondary remains crucial as the season progresses, especially against high-powered passing attacks.
Looking ahead, the Falcons face an important matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. This game will be pivotal for Atlanta as they aim to solidify their standing in the division. A victory would not only enhance their playoff aspirations but also reinforce their status as a legitimate contender in the NFC.
NFL Analysis Urges Atlanta Falcons To Trade For Azeez Ojulari
In some ways, Atlanta still needs a couple of pieces more to make a meaningful playoff run. According to an NFL analysis by Bleacher Report, this can be done if they acquire Azeez Ojulari from the New York Giants.
Despite trading for Matthew Judon in August, the Falcons’ pass rush has struggled this season, as they ranked dead last with six sacks heading into this past weekend. Meanwhile, Ojulari was featured in B/R’s NFL Trade Block Big Board column this week and tabbed as a good fit for the club.
“The 2021 second-round pick had eight sacks as a rookie and another 5.5 sacks in his second season. It’s not outlandish to think he could replicate that production with a different team,” B/R’s Kristopher Knox wrote.
“…The Atlanta Falcons would also be smart to take a look at Ojulari. Atlanta moved to 3-2 on Thursday but continues to struggle with sack production.”
Analysts suggest the Falcons should seriously consider trading for Azeez Ojulari, the talented pass rusher from the Giants. Following a standout performance against the Bengals, where he recorded two sacks and multiple tackles, Ojulari has demonstrated his potential impact on the field.
With the Falcons struggling with the league’s worst pass rush, acquiring Ojulari could provide the boost they desperately need. Given that he’s in the final year of his rookie contract, this trade could be both strategic and cost-effective, making it a necessary move to enhance their playoff hopes.
