The Atlanta Falcons will have another option at DT
The Atlanta Falcons didn’t even have to sign a free agent this offseason to add depth to their defensive line next year. The Falcons signed a former Chicago Bears defensive tackle in July last year to a one-year deal. Less than two weeks later, they retired before training camp even began. The Falcons should have that player for next season’s training camp if they want.
According to Mike Garafolo, the Falcons are reinstating defensive tackle Eddie Goldman from the reserve/retired list.

Goldman was a 2015 second-round selection by then-Bears general manager Ryan Pace, who is now with the Falcons’ front office. Goldman played six seasons in Chicago before the team released him last March. (Goldman was a Covid-19 opt-out for the 2020 season.)
Goldman was a solid defensive tackle for the Bears. He’d record 116 total tackles, 59 assisted tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks during his time with the Bears. We’ll see if the Falcons are interested in keeping him for the 2023 season or if Goldman will go to another team.
