Some even believe that the Falcons could make the playoffs. It’s way too early to know what Atlanta truly has, but things are looking up compared to where they were at this point last year.
Cousins is coming off of a torn Achilles, which has made some wonder just how good he’s actually going to be. However, he has been making great progress in his recovery and seems poised to start the season at 100 percent health.

Bleacher Report recently threw some water on the fire of the Falcons. They believe that Atlanta will end up regretting their decision to give Cousins the contract that they did in free agency.
Brad Gagnon, the writer of the article, revealed why the Falcons will end up regretting the move.
“They oddly spent a top-10 pick on Cousins’ eventual successor rather than adding more support for him, and Cousins is far from a lock to lead them to success. Fresh off an Achilles injury heading into his age-36 season, he’s been part of only one playoff victory in his NFL career.”
There are legitimate reasons why the Atlanta Falcons should temper expectations for Cousins. However, he’s still an elite quarterback when he’s healthy.
During the eight games he played with the Minnesota Vikings last season before the injury, he completed 69.5 percent of his pass attempts for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He was on track for what could have been a historical year.
No one should expect him to look the exact same as he did before the injury, but he is a massive upgrade from what the Atlanta Falcons have had at quarterback for years. Fans should still be excited to see Cousins on the field.
