Former Arizona Cardinals GM comments on Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray has been kicked while down this offseason. The Arizona Cardinals’ franchise quarterback was criticized by a teammate Kelvin Beachum this offseason on a radio spot, even as Murray is trying to rehab from an injury that will have him miss some of the 2023 regular season. Former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim recently commented on Murray’s progression in the NFL.
According to Arizona Sports, Keim said Murray needs to “grow” yet:
“He still needs to grow. (Beachum’s comments are) not slanted toward his character,” Keim said. “He’s not a bad guy. He’s a good kid, has a good smile, has a nice way about him. I think it’s like anything, guys have to continue to learn what it’s going to take to be great. Does he know what Tom Brady and Peyton Manning knows of what it takes to be great? No.
The word consistent with Keim and Beachum here is “grow.” That is pretty harsh language for a quarterback who’s currently out because he put his body on the line.
