Arch Manning is expected to continue to get a lot of hype as he is eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft despite never being the starting quarterback of a program. He will get his chance this season to showcase how he can lead the Texas Longhorns, but the hype surrounding the next Manning heir is through the roof.
While NFL teams are getting ready to see what they have on the field, scouts are assessing the quarterback room and trying to see if tanking for Arch Manning is better for the team’s future. One college football analyst heaped a lot of praise on the quarterback prospect so let’s take a closer look as to what was said and who said it.
Arch Manning Continues to Impress CFB Analysts

There have been a lot of talented quarterbacks in college throughout recent memory as the likes of Caleb Williams, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, and others immediately jump to the mind with the hype and skills they possessed. However, one college football analyst discussed how he believes Arch Manning is better than all of them.
While appearing on Wednesday’s edition of ESPN’s Get Up, college football analyst Paul Finebaum stated how Manning is the most talented quarterback in 15 years.
“The expectations are through the absolute roof… Arch Manning is the best college football quarterback we have seen since Tim Tebow entered the scene in 2006.”
This is going to be the first season that Manning is going to be the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns after spending each of the last two seasons as the backup to Quinn Ewers. However, he was able to see time on the field last season as Ewers battled through injuries later in the season.
Last season, Arch Manning showcased his abilities as he completed 61 of 90 (67.8%) of his passes for 939 yards with nine passing touchdowns to two interceptions while adding 25 rushing attempts for 108 yards (4.3 yards per carry) with four rushing touchdowns.
With the Texas Longhorns losing some key talents in the 2025 NFL Draft, there is a lot of expectations in the SEC for Manning to seamlessly bring them back to the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. It will be interesting to see how he looks and if he can be in the conversation for this year’s Heisman Trophy.
