“Apologize To Richardson”: Indianapolis Colts Fans Explode And Want Anthony Richardson Back Starting And Joe Flacco Benched

One of the biggest stories entering the Sunday night football matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings was that the Colts benched Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco. This came after last week’s game where Richardson claimed he was “tired” after a run against the Houston Texans.

Flacco didn’t perform well as he completed 16-of-27 passes for 179 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception in a 21-13 loss for the Colts against the Vikings. Indianapolis dropped to 4-5 on the season and Minnesota improved to 6-2 on the season.

The Colts mentioned that Flacco was going to be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season over Richardson, but what if Joe Flacco doesn’t play well again next week? The Colts are not giving up on Anthony Richardson, but this might be the best move for them in the long term.

Richardson has struggled this season, but he is a very young quarterback. The Colts need to get him back onto the field at some point this season over Flacco if this were to continue.

Rumored Trades

The NFL Trade Deadline is on Tuesday. There is a chance that the Colts could trade Richardson to a different team. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida. Indianapolis could be giving up on him way too soon if they made a move like this.

If they were to trade him, they would be starting all over again in the 2025 NFL Draft. Joe Flacco might be only good for them in the short-term, but not the long-term for this franchise.
