Andrew Luck, former quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, shocked the world before the 2019 NFL season began when he announced that he is going to retire from the sport. The announcement came as a surprise since Luck was indeed playing quite well at that time, with a long promising career in the NFL ahead of him.
Fans and reporters speculated that it was because of injuries that Luck had decided to retire from the sport. However, Luck went on to reveal that he made the difficult decision as he wanted to be a better husband and a better father to his children. Luck discussed this and more in a recent episode of ‘The Dan Patrick Show’.
“There was a grieving period because a part of my identity died, and that part of me was a football player. And that was a huge, huge part of me. Certainly, I was more than just a football player. … But you have to fill that void with something positive.” Luck said on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’ when he was asked if he was simply just a football player or someone who is good at the game.

While Luck may have retired from the game, football has not completely disappeared from his life. Andrew Luck is currently the general manager of the Stanford Cardinal in the NCAA division. Luck played for Stanford during his college days, which makes his team-ownership all the more sweet.
Chad Johnson Hilariously Slips Up When Announcing Andrew Luck’s New Gig
Former wide receiver, Chad Johnson, goofed up when he was discussing Andrew Luck’s new job as Stanford Cardinal’s General Manager. In a recent episode of ‘Nightcap’, Johnson was announcing Luck’s new gig in Stanford, when he slipped-up, replacing the word ‘success’ with ‘s*x’.
“I love the move. Especially putting somebody like Andrew Luck in that position, someone who’s had s*x. Excuse me, someone who’s had SUCCESS at the NFL level.” Johnson said.
While his co-host, Shannon Sharpe did not notice the slip-up and continued the discussion as if nothing happened. While Luck being GM of the Stanford Cardinal is great news in itself, this seemed to inspire Chad Johnson.
Johnson went on to ask Sharpe as to what he thought of him becoming the GM of not just one, but two college programs. However, Sharpe seemed to drive some reality into Johnson when the former Denver Broncos tight end remarked that a role such as that would require a person to step down from other projects.
