Colt’s fans get ready to rumble and watch out for this AFC South battle. After a come-from-behind win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis travels to the music city to face the Titans. Sunday’s game will be another AFC South battle for Frank Reich’s squad. Indianapolis has a chance to jump to first place in the AFC South. A lot is at stake, and the game can be considered Indy’s biggest game of the year.
Tennessee is favored by 2.5 points. Mike Vrabel’s team is coming off a bye week so they will be prepared for the AFC South battle. Tennessee sits at 3-2 and is first in the AFC South. Before their bye week, Tennessee survived a close game against the Commanders and won the game 21-17.
AFC South Battle: Tennesse’s strengths and weaknesses

Tennessee is a solid football team with talented players on both sides of the ball. Derrick Henry can be considered the “heart and soul” of the team. Henry is one of the best running backs in the NFL and has helped Tennessee’s offense win games. Henry has carried the ball 104 times, rushed for 408 yards, and scored five touchdowns. Simply put Henry is the Titan’s offense and he uses his size to wear down defenses. He will be ready for the AFC South battle.
Tennessee’s running game is strong, but their passing game is average. Ryan Tannehill has thrown for 963 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. Tennessee relies on the ground game to move the ball and open up play-action passes. Robert Woods is the only receiver with over 200 receiving yards.
The Titans have a strong defensive line that can ruin games. Jefferey Simmons, Denico Autry, and Bud Depree have eight sacks and two forced fumbles. However, according to ESPN, the Titans have the 28th-ranked defense in the NFL. Through six games, the Titans are allowing 390 yards per game. These numbers don’t bode well for an AFC South battle.

Frank Reich and Offensive Coordinator Marcus Brady have to mix it up on offense. Indy must keep Tennessee’s defense honest by making the Titans honor the run and pass. Indianapolis ran a hurry-up style on offense against Jacksonville. Matt Ryan got rid of the ball quickly and threw 58 passes. As mentioned earlier the Titans have a strong defensive front so Ryan shouldn’t be dropping back 58 times in this AFC South battle. Indy’s offensive line is a work in progress and can benefit from quick passes, running the ball, and getting into a rhythm.
Marcus Brady has to find ways to get Parris Campbell and Alec Pierce involved. Pierce caught the game-winning touchdown against Jacksonville and Campbell made big catches throughout the game. If Indy can get them going, a lot of pressure and coverage will be taken away from Michael Pittman Jr.
Sunday’s game should be fun, physical, and exciting. It will be an AFC South battle and whoever wins will go home happy.
