Amon-Ra St. Brown, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, was involved in fights with safety Brian Branch during the training camp, which eventually led head coach Dan Campbell to halt practice. The training camp for the Lions is definitely not seeing a smooth first few days as Campbell had to halt the practice on the first day itself.

Sports reporter Colton Pouncy shared the news of the training camp being halted on his X account, much to the chagrin of Detroit Lions fans. According to Pouncy, the first day of the training was halted because of players tackling in shorts and the second day was paused because of the fights between St. Brown and Branch.
“Dan Campbell stopped practice today after several scuffles broke out in the early portion. Brian Branch and Amon-Ra St. Brown went at it multiple times. Second day in a row practice was stopped. On Tuesday, it was for tackling in shorts. Pads go on tomorrow. They’re ready,” Colton Pouncy shared on his X account about the Detroit Lions training camp.

Amon-Ra St. Brown has been playing for the Detroit Lions since the 2021 NFL season and signed an extension with the team last year. On the other hand, safety Brian Brand joined the team in 2023. It is still not understood what the problems were that the two players were fighting. However, it is safe to say that the Detroit Lions training camp is not at all going the way that head coach Dan Campbell hoped for the team.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Recently Defended New OC & DC
On another note, Amon-Ra St. Brown is clearly very loyal to the team and showed this in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports. The Detroit Lions wide receiver was asked what he thought of the new Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Coordinator for the team and showered the two with much appreciation. In this offseason, the Lions have brought in John Morton as their new OC and Kelvin Sheppard as their new DC.

However, many fans and analysts have cast doubt on the abilities of the two men, and whether they will be able to shape up the team like their predecessors. Brown does not seem to have the same opinion and reasoned that the two coaches definitely know their stuff and that they are definitely not ‘scrubs’. Under Morton and Sheppard, the Lions will be training for their first game of the season in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.
