Braelon Allen is America’s best running back, and he’s yet to play a college football game in his adult life.
Braelon Allen: Boy Amongst Men
Allen was recruited as a defensive back and did not enroll early, meaning coaches likely did not see him until fall camp last year.
He watched the season opener from the sidelines, a home loss to Penn St. Allen managed 12 carries over the next two games, but Wisconsin sat at 1-2.
The phenom then bowled through the next seven defenses the Badgers faced, gaining over 100 yards rushing each game, all wins.
He only started four times, but Allen was a household name once he uncorked on Nebraska for 228 yards and three touchdowns.
Wisconsin lost the following week to Minnesota and Allen was held to 47 yards on 17 carries. Injuries and dismissals hampered the Badger backfield all of last season, and Braelon Allen was keyed in on by the Gophers unlike previous defenses as a result.
The Badgers finished the 2021 season 9-4 after beating Arizona St (-6′), 20-13, in the Las Vegas Bowl.
The MVP, Braelon Allen, ran for 159 yards on 29 attempts.
He would not turn 18 for another three weeks.
It’s hard to comprehend dominating the Big Ten the way Allen did last season at his age, truly.
Braelon Allen Playing For “GB”
Allen’s position coach, Gary Brown, passed away at the age of 52 from cancer on April 10, 2022.
He plans to dedicate this season to his former coach, and even got a tattoo of Brown’s initials on his arm.
Brown was a former multiple-1,000 yard rusher in the NFL. In 99 career games spanning eight seasons, he averaged 4.2 yards per carry on well over a thousand attempts.
Braelon Allen Will Dominate 2022
A motivated Allen, with unreal amounts of physical potential, should be a Heisman candidate all season long.
If Allen’s impact is as foundational to the success of his team as it was last season, it would be shocking not to see him in New York come December.
