The Buffalo Bills lost out on Davante Adams, but still wound up adding an elite playmaking wide receiver to quarterback Josh Allen’s arsenal Tuesday.
Hours after the Las Vegas Raiders traded Adams to the New York Jets, the Bills landed veteran Amari Cooper in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.
Already holding a two-game lead in the AFC East, after being the Jets on Monday night, the Bills’ offense gets significantly stronger, particularly in the vertical passing game, but dropping Cooper into a receiving corps that already included upstart rookie Keon Coleman, veterans Khalil Shakir, and Mack Hollins.
But, Cooper now becomes a true No. 1 target and game-changing playmaker in Allen’s supporting cast.
While appearing in only three games for the Browns, so far this season, Cooper has caught 24 passes for 250 yards with a pair of touchdowns.

Amari Cooper is a huge addition for Bills.
2024 Bills had swapped downfield speed for size, leaving Allen with big targets on short passes: 3.3 air yards/comp but 6.5 YAC/comp.
Now, Amari + Allen's arm = 💣
Cooper rates among best deep WRs (20+ yds) in NFL despite shit QB. pic.twitter.com/5Xb4M0D9Wq

Amari Cooper is the big winner. Watson is off to one of the worst starts by a QB all-time.

Amari Cooper had 1200 yards with Deshaun Watson and Joe Flacco last season. He had 53/725/6 in nine games after he was traded from the Raiders to the Cowboys in 2018. What's he going to do with Josh Allen?! https://t.co/5zkLRhCc0z
