Alabama is heading into its new era under head coach Kalen DeBoer, and former head coach Nick Saban now seems like a thing in the past. The Crimson Tide fan base appears to have fully adapted to DeBoer being their new guy, and we still have to see what he can do on Saturdays in the fall. DeBoer has attacked recruiting like crazy and, as of right now, has the number one recruiting class in 2025 from some media outlets.
SEC media days kicked off in Dallas, Texas, on Monday. Saban usually used to be on the microphone in front of the crowd, speaking as a head coach, but he has now joined ESPN. He is part of their College GameDay crew. He started his media career a little earlier this week, joining the SEC Network at media days, and he began to take some shots at his former team.
Nick Saban Doesn’t Pick Alabama To Make The SEC Title Game
Saban picked Georgia to beat SEC newcomer Texas in this year’s SEC title game, and it’s a good pick. Georgia has been the best team in college football for the last three years, and the only person who beat them was Saban, so now they don’t have to go through him anymore.
Texas was just in the college football playoff last season, and they returned starting quarterback Quinn Ewers and have high expectations this season.
Even though the pick seemed logical, one current Crimson Tide player was unhappy with his former coach keeping his team out of the SEC title game and even compared him to a troll living in their mom’s basement.
Tyler Booker Takes A Shot At Saban
Starting offensive lineman Tyler Booker was unhappy with his former coach and stated, “He always said you don’t let some guy who lives in his mom’s basement determine how you feel. I won’t let a guy who plays golf all day determine how I feel.”
Tyler Booker on Nick Saban not picking Alabama to make the SEC championship game:

Booker doesn’t respect his former coach’s opinion, and he should be mad that Saban doesn’t seem to have faith in the team he coached for many years.
Saban not choosing Alabama to make the SEC title game should be posted all around the Crimson Tide locker room this season for motivation.
Alabama Has A Chance To Win It All
Even though Saban is counting out his former squad, don’t be like him because they have a loaded roster again, and DeBoer is a great head coach. The Crimson Tide will be players in an SEC championship game and even winning the college football playoff.
