Two weeks ago, Alabama went into Baton Rouge to play a hot LSU team, and if the Crimson Tide were to fall, they would’ve found their third loss on the season and been most likely out of the playoffs.
Instead, Alabama took it to the Tigers, winning 42-13, and now they have positioned themselves to maybe play for a SEC title.
Many Crimson Tide fans wondered what the season would be like with new head coach Kalen DeBoer. After the first month of the season, it looked good after a huge win over Georgia, but a week later, the team went to Vanderbilt and lost.
Even though Alabama has lost to Vanderbilt and Tennessee, the team still looks like they could win it all this upcoming winter, and DeBoer received some high praise for his first season.
Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer Stock Is Rising
Morgan Moriarty from Bleacher Report published an article Updated Stock Watch on 2024 Year 1 College Football Coaches and has DeBoer on the rise and wrote.
It’s been a roller-coaster of a season for Alabama fans under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. The season looked Alabama-as-usual through the first four weeks, including the Tide’s 41-34 win over Georgia. But just a week later, Alabama fell to unranked Vanderbilt on the road, marking the first time the Tide lost to Vandy since 1984. Following Alabama’s 24-17 loss to Tennessee, it felt like the sky was falling in Tuscaloosa.
But how quickly things have changed. Following a 34-0 win over Missouri and a 42-13 win over LSU, Alabama is back in the playoff hunt, currently sitting at 10th in the country. If the Tide makes a playoff, it’s a great start for DeBoer, despite an up-and-down year.
2025 recruiting class snapshot: Ranked fourth nationally, and third in the SEC. Includes four 5-star prospects, including quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive tackle Ty Haywood, interior lineman Michael Carroll and cornerback Dijon Lee.
Alabama got themselves a great one with DeBoer, and if anyone thought they would take a step back with Nick Saban leaving, they are in for a rude awakening because DeBoer is here to stay for a long time.
The Crimson Tide should be the team to beat in the SEC moving forward this season. Let’s see if they can win the SEC title and maybe even bring home the national championship.
