The No.1 Curt Cignetti led Indiana Hoosiers are set to take on No.10 Mario Cristobal led Miami Hurricanes in the much awaited College Football National Championship game for the 2025 season on January 19th, 2026.

The Hoosiers are currently undefeated in the 2025 season and have been showcasing beyond impressive performances in the postseason as they clinched a blowout 38-3 win against Alabama in the Rose Bowl showdown, followed by a thrilling 56-22 win over Oregon Ducks in the College Football playoffs Semifinals.
Talking about the upcoming national championship game on “The Triple Option” podcast, Rob Stone, Mark Ingram II and Urban Myer discussed their picks.
“You got Indiana who has maxed out their potential. They are playing lights out offensively. Fernando Mendoza, the way he commands the offense, he’s had more touchdowns than incompletions. We already said that. He the way he is processing the game, the way he is putting this team in position to wins. The way he’s using his legs when he needs to. This team is going to be tough to beat defensively. They play extremely disciplined. They stop the run. They get after the passer. The their second door, their secondary can go. You talk about a secondary who can play ball, who’s on the same page, they can go. I think this Indiana team, I think, is they’re the best team in college right now. They’re the best team in college right now.”
“I think Imma take the points. Imma take the seven and a half points. Indiana has been stomping the dog. Piss out of everybody they’ve played in the playoff. But I’m going to take the seven and a half points. I think this is going to be a closer game than we think.
I do think Indiana wins the game.”
Urban Meyer then shared his prediction and said that he believes Indiana will cover in the end will win the game by 9 points, however, he boldly predicts that Carson Beck and the Miami crew will play their a** off at home.
Curt Cignetti Opens Up About Biggest Learning From Nick Saban
Nick Saban must have his head held high watching this year’s college football playoffs as he gets to see many of his ex coaches lead their teams to greatness in the 2025 season.
Saban had four of his ex coaches from Alabama in the postseason this year with Oregon’s Dan Lanning, Ole Miss’ Pete Golding, Miami’s Mario Cristobal and Indiana’s Curt Cignetti.

And high achievers and strivers understand that, and that’s why they get to that point.”
Talking about what he took away from his time at Alabama, Cignetti shared that the if you wanted to be in Tuscaloosa you had to do a lot of special things as the “guy” there used to say “normal equals average.”
