Alabama football did not meet expectations this season, narrowly missing out on the new 12-team College Football Playoff field. However, the Alabama Crimson Tide still added high-profile wins in their first year under former Washington Huskies leadman Kalen DeBoer, beating archrivals Georgia and LSU and winning the 89th rendition of the Iron Bowl. Still, with Alabama missing out on playoff contention, the Crimson Tide were quicker to lose some high-end prospects via the transfer portal.
On Friday, running back Justice Haynes entered the transfer portal, ending his two-year run in Tuscaloosa. Haynes, a former five-star recruit, enters the portal as the team’s third-leading rusher. Nevertheless, Alabama football fans did not seem fazed after losing 547 total yards and seven touchdowns of production.
Alabama Football Fans Unmoved By Justice Haynes Transfer
According to On3:
Breaking: Alabama RB Justice Haynes has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, @PeteNakos_ reports.
Like most top-tier prospects, the Alabama football program is still susceptible on the transfer portal. With over ten players already sharing their intent to transfer from the Alabama Crimson Tide, star running back Justice Haynes darted for the portal on Friday. This season, his second with the Crimson Tide, Haynes rushed 79 times for 448 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 99 yards. His best game of the season came in a ranked win over Missouri, tallying 81 yards and a touchdown on nine touches.
A five-star running back in the class of 2023 per 247Sports, Haynes committed to Alabama football over Tennessee, Notre Dame, Miami, Missouri, Florida State, Colorado, Auburn, Arizona, and Duke, among others. Although Haynes comes from a high pedigree and played during both of his seasons with the Crimson Tide, fans do not seem moved by the loss of the team’s third-leading rusher:
Correction: it is not a big blow to the RB room. We have Young, Miller, Riley and then we got Dear coming in. Not a big blow.

I wish him well but he never wowed me?? Hopefully he can live up to the five star ranking with fresh start somewhere else.
Talent in the RB Room has not been the same since Najee Harris left.— Byron Todd Ford (@MusafordFord) December 13, 2024
There's a lot of backs on the roster and only 1 football.

Not a big blow at all. RB room is loaded. He knew Richard Young is coming.

Bad news… Justice Haynes is better than Jam Miller and should’ve been used more.. why he’s transferring..
Good news… gives more opportunities for Richard Young and Dear to be used . #Alabama #Rolltide
— Tyler (@tyler_myname) December 13, 2024
Is this more Justice Haynes leaving for carries/PT or because Richard Young was starting to creep up on him quickly? Could be some of both but the latter definitely could’ve been the reason

We all have eyes bro just take the L and move on

Haynes in the portal gives me the feeling that our offensive scheme may be much different next season. A polished passer will emerge from the QB room and the offense will look more like Washington's in 2023. I wish Justice well. #RTR #RollTide
