‘Hugh Freeze Can’t Coach’: Alabama Football Fans Bash Rival After Opening As Massive 14.5-Point Favorite Against Auburn

Alabama Football is in a prime position to compete for their 16th national title in program history. With the expansion of the College Foot Playoff to a 12-team format, the Alabama Crimson Tide are a shoo-in for the CFP if they win out, regardless of their status for the SEC title game. Alabama will finish the regular season with back-to-back games against opponents with a combined record of 9-11. On Saturday, they will visit the Oklahoma Sooners as a -13.5 point favorite.

Next weekend, during rivalry week, the Crimson Tide will head home to face the Auburn Tigers in the 89th rendition of the Iron Bowl. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Alabama will again play as a large favorite on the spread, much to the delight of their fanbase.

According to On3 Via Twitter:

NEW: Alabama opens as a 14.5-point favorite at home vs. Auburn next Saturday. Who you got?

Following their matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners, where they are 13.5-point road favorites, Alabama football will face Auburn in Tuscaloosa as a 14.5-point favorite. Alabama will likely enter the regular season finale in a win-and-in situation regarding the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, Auburn will likely be playing for pride. With a loss on Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies, Auburn will fall to 4-7, failing to reach bowl eligibility for the second time in three seasons.

However, the matchup between Alabama football and the Auburn Tigers, known as the Iron Bowl, is usually highly contested regardless of record. Last season, despite an eventual seven-loss season, Auburn led Alabama 24-20 late in the fourth quarter before a miracle touchdown saved the Crimson Tide’s season. Nevertheless, Alabama fans are expecting a bloodbath of their conference rival at home in the regular season finale:
