It has been a sad past two days in Tuscaloosa, Alabama since the Crimson Tide was the first team to be eliminated from the college football playoffs.
This season was always going to have ups and downs with new head coach Kalen DeBoer because replacing the greatest college football coach ever to live wasn’t going to be easy, but many fans thought they could crack the playoffs in a field of 12 teams.
Alabama Fans Want To Play Softer Teams
Alabama finished the year with a 9-3 record. Even though they beat the SEC champions Georgia, South Carolina, and Missouri, they still didn’t get in because of their horrible losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.
The wins weren’t the issue with the Crimson Tide. Their two bad losses kept them out; many Alabama fans were unhappy with the committee’s decision and now want to play a weaker schedule since teams that did get in didn’t have great wins.
The Crimson Tide did have games against Western Kentucky, South Florida, a horrible Wisconsin team, and FCS Mercer, but somehow, they want a weaker schedule.
Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd ripped Alabama on Monday, stating, “They need to soften their schedule? What’s weaker than Mercer?”

The Veteran radio host has a great point about how much softer will it get. They lost to two bad football teams, and that’s the only reason they aren’t in; if they had only fallen to either Vanderbilt or Oklahoma, they would be playing in the playoffs, but you can’t lose to two horrible teams and think you should be in.
Alabama needs to change many things this offseason if they want to make the playoffs next season, and one thing they did to stop doing is playing the victim card here, thinking they got left out of something they belonged in.
