Aaron Rodgers’ signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers was expected, but not in June. The delay is Rodgers’ decision led many fans to think that he will hang it up for good. However, he showed he’s got at least one more season in him.
Now, a retired wide receiver wants to team up with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Breaking: Retired WR Wants To Unretire To Play With Aaron Rodgers And The Steelers

According to Antonio Brown, Aaron Rodgers might be the key to unlocking one last shot at the NFL:
The seven-time Pro Bowl wideout stirred the football world on Thursday after confirming his conversation with Rodgers back in February. According to Brown, the two discussed a potential reunion in Pittsburgh, where Brown became a household name.
The talk comes at a time when the Steelers are making their own headlines. Pittsburgh reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Rodgers ahead of next week’s mandatory minicamp, sending shockwaves through the league.
As Brown tells it, that conversation months ago wasn’t casual. The former star wideout claims he was the first to know about Rodgers signing with the Steelers because the two have been discussing the possibility of joining forces in the Steel City.

It carried weight and, maybe, just maybe, it set the groundwork for something bigger.
Brown told MLFootball that Rodgers reached out to him in February to ask if he’d be interested in returning to the Steelers. MLFootball’s X post quoted Brown directly and called the veteran receiver “still in elite football shape.” Brown then reposted the report on his own verified account, effectively confirming the interaction and signaling his willingness to lace up the cleats again.
Brown, now 36, hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021. Despite being out of the league for four years, he continues to train daily and insists he remains ready to compete. He spent nine seasons in Pittsburgh, dominating as one of the league’s most productive receivers. He led the NFL in yards twice, catches twice, and touchdowns once, all while collecting five All-Pro honors.
However, his exit from the franchise in 2019 came with friction. Brown clashed with key figures in the organization, including longtime head coach Mike Tomlin. That relationship hasn’t warmed much over time. In 2024, Brown told reporters he’d play for the Steelers for free. Tomlin’s response? He walked off the podium without saying a word.

Since leaving Pittsburgh, Brown made brief stops in New England and Tampa Bay, appearing in only 16 games combined. Off the field, he faced multiple legal issues and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.
Still, Brown seems determined to write one final chapter in the city where his stardom was born. Whether Rodgers wants him there or if the Steelers would even consider it remains unanswered. But in Brown’s mind, the door isn’t closed just yet.
