The Pittsburgh Steelers will be the latest team to have a first-hand taste of the Aaron Rodgers experience. The 41-year-old quarterback has decided to continue his playing career instead of hanging up his cleats, as he inked a one-year contract worth $13.65 million with the Steelers. The deal came with a guaranteed amount of $10 million.
Rodgers is a shoo-in for Canton one day, but he’s got the chance to add to his legacy with a storied franchise that’s still looking for stability under center. While Rodgers provides some sort of immediate relief in the most important position in football, he’s not going to be with Pittsburgh (or in the NFL, for that matter) for many years to come, given his age. Nevertheless, a strong 2025 campaign for Rodgers could benefit his image and further fatten his bank account, thanks to his bonus-laden contract.
How Aaron Rodgers can trigger $3 million worth of bonus

According to Albert Breer of SI.com, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player needs to play in at least 70 percent of snaps in the 2025 regular season in order to qualify for any of the bonuses that could pay off by as much as $$5.85 million. A total of $3 million of those bonuses is tied to Rodgers’ MVP fate and the Steelers’ chances to win the Super Bowl.
Assuming he plays at least 70 percent of snaps in the regular season, Rodgers will trigger a $1.5 million bonus if he wins the NFL MVP again in the 2025 campaign. He’ll also cash in $1.5 million in bonus if the Steelers win the Super Bowl, but he also needs to see action 50 percent of the time at Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
