Aaron Rodgers, newly signed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, seems to be already having troubles before even playing for the team. The veteran quarterback apparently has an issue with the new helmets that the NFL has prescribed for its players. Rodgers is used to playing with a Schutt helmet and last season wore a Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD. However, the model has now been banned by the NFL and Rodgers is not happy at all.

On Tuesday, Rodgers had a word with press reporters during the mandatory minicamp and complained that he simply “cannot stand” the new helmet. Rodgers, being in the league since 2005 is a true veteran, and clearly does not like sudden changes.

“I can’t stand the helmet. I’ve worn a Schutt for 20 years and somehow it finally didn’t pass the safety standard.” Aaron Rodgers said to press reporters during the minicamp on Tuesday.

Apart from the helmet, Aaron Rodgers seems to be adjusting well to the Pittsburgh Steelers environment. After he joined the team, mixed reactions have been going around about what exactly Rodgers brings to the table for the Steelers. While many fans are supportive of the move, some analysts have expressed that the team will definitely flunk this year.

Still, the Pittsburgh Steelers as a whole have been quite optimistic about attaining Aaron Rodgers. In fact, the team has hardly made any changes quarterback-wise, while they were still waiting for Rodgers to respond to their offer.

Aaron Rodgers And Pittsburgh Steelers Won’t Work, Says Skip Bayless

Among those who don’t feel so good about Aaron Rodgers joining the Pittsburgh Steelers is Skip Bayless. The well-known journalist mentioned recently that the Steelers will definitely tank in this upcoming NFL season.

However, by tanking in the next football season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will also be positioning themselves to be the top suitors for Arch Manning, Texas Longhorns quarterback, who frankly has been killing it on the field in college football.

Skip Bayless does not seem too optimistic about Aaron Rodgers’ performance for the team in itself. According to Bayless, Rodgers’ best years are behind him and he is simply “washed”. In the last couple of seasons, Aaron Rodgers played for the New York Jets. However, his time with the team was not that great, with injuries and other setbacks. Eventually, the team gave up on him earlier in March. The Steelers, on the other hand, are looking up to Rodgers to lead their offense, placing all their trust in him.
