“I Can’t Stand It” Aaron Rodgers Announces Massive Complaint After Joining Steelers (Report)

Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin get to team up in 2025 for the first time ever.  The two have admired each other’s talents from afar, now they’ll get a chance to put their minds together.  However, Rodgers is reportedly already extremely unhappy with one thing in Pittsburgh’s camp.

In spite of his complaints, outrageous statements, or bizarre conspiracy theories, Rodgers has never stirred the pot with his complaining. As a Pittsburgh Steeler, he started the former in little time:

Last week, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $19.5 million. Pittsburgh waited nearly three months for Rodgers to make a decision, as the 41-year-old pondered retirement before putting the pen to paper.

The Steelers obviously knew what they were signing up for when they pursued (and successfully) recruited Rodgers. Days into his tenure with his new team, Rodgers is already complaining about a league rule change.

In April, the NFL and NFLPA announced that the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD is among their seven helmet models now permanently banned. After reviewing data, the league has offered several new helmet models, and Rodgers’ preferred model was no longer up to the NFL standards for player safety.

Per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Rodgers didn’t mince words when discussing his need for a new helmet with reporters.

“I can’t stand the helmet,” the four-time league MVP said. “I’ve worn a Schutt for 20 years and somehow it finally didn’t pass the safety standard.”

Well, it’s not as bad as the Antonio Brown saga in 2019. Months after he was traded to the Oakland Raiders, the All-Pro wide receiver threatened to retire after the NFL banned the model he wore. It was one of many incidents that prompted the Raiders to release Brown before he ever played a snap for them.

The 41-year-old Rodgers will make his Steelers debut on Sept. 7, when the AFC North club visits his old team, the New York Jets. The home team will be led by quarterback Justin Fields, who spent last season with the Steelers.

Indeed, a compelling revenge game for both quarterbacks.
