One of the biggest stories of the 2025 NFL offseason has been the future of future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Rodgers has enjoyed a 20-year career that has seen him win four league MVP Awards, a Super Bowl, a Super Bowl MVP, and place his name among the best players to ever play the game.
Unfortunately, over the last several years, Rodgers has made headlines for different reasons other than his play on the field. His divorce from the Packers was an ugly and very public one, and his two-year stint with the New York Jets can be considered nothing other than a disaster.
The Pittsburgh Steelers Are Still Interested in Aaron Rodgers

After being informed that the Jets were going to release him, Rodgers became a free agent for the first time in his long NFL career. Despite his many accomplishments, his 41 years of age and decline in play in 2024 have not resulted in what one could consider a market clamoring for his services.
Rodgers reached out to one of his former rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, about serving as a bridge quarterback for them in 2025. Pro Bowler Sam Darnold left them via free agency and JJ McCarthy, who has no NFL experience, is coming off of a torn ACL.
However, the Vikings were not interested in signing him.
Their decision has left the Pittsburgh Steelers as the only team in the NFL that is interested in signing him. However, Rodgers has not yet made a decision on whether he even wants to play or retire.
NFL Analyst Suggests Aaron Rodgers Should Sign with the Miami Dolphins

Despite the certainty from many that he will sign with Pittsburgh eventually, NFL analyst Mitchel Milani of Bleacher Report believes that the Miami Dolphins would actually be a better fit for him:
“Tua Tagovailoa is the most injured and frequently unreliable quarterback in football Aaron Rodgers could fill in and ride with Tyreek Hill and Jalen waddle and retire in Florida,” Milani says.
The problem, though, is that signing Rodgers for a year will not fix the fact that Miami is paying Tagovailoa over $50 million a year for the next four seasons.
It is also improbable that Rodgers would go into a situation in which he has to compete for the starting job.
At this point, it is pretty much Steelers or retirement for Rodgers.
