Aaron Rodgers finally broke his silence about his decision on joining the Pittsburgh Steelers or any NFL team for that matter in a recent appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Thursday. The 41-year-old veteran quarterback admitted that he has never felt like he owed any team a decision and has also communicated this to the teams that he has been in contact with.

Among the several NFL teams that have shown interest in signing Rodgers, the Pittsburgh Steelers top the list. In the 2024 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers finished second in the AFC North after winning ten games and losing seven. The Steelers managed to make it to the Wild Card round but lost to the Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh is on the hunt for a performing quarterback with experience like Rodgers, to bring them closer to the next Super Bowl.

“Listen, this entire time I haven’t felt like I owed somebody any decision at some point. … I’ve been upfront with them about that. If you need to move on, call me, by all means. … There’s been no deadline. And yeah, I’ve talked to Mike (Tomlin) many times.” Aaron Rodgers said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Thursday.

Aaron Rodgers has been playing in the NFL since 2005 after being selected as the 24th pick in the very first round of the draft by the Green Bay Packers. After playing for the Packers until 2022, the quarterback moved to the New York Jets in the previous season. However, he was let go by the Jets last month after putting up subpar performances.

Aaron Rodgers Blames Personal Relationships For Indecision On Signing

In the same appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Aaron Rodgers also confessed that his personal commitments and relationship has been part of the reason as to why he has not made a decision in terms of his next team in the NFL.

“I’ll set it all straight. From the jump, I’m in a different phase of my life, I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship, I have personal commitments I’ve made… and people in my inner circle battling difficult stuff. To make a commitment to a team is a big thing,” Aaron Rodgers said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

Last December, Aaron Rodgers mentioned to Pat McAfee that he is in a relationship with a woman named Brittani. However, personal details of his girlfriend are not known as she does not use social media.
