The AAC had a very underwhelming Week 1. The matchup results were detailed in this article by the Cougar. However, there was one very great performance by East Carolina University quarterback Ahlers. ECU QB Ahlers set an AAC conference record for completions in their one-point 21-20 loss to ranked North Carolina State.
The AAC does not have upward momentum after Week 1. In high profile games, for example, Cincinnati lost to Arkansas 31-24, In other games, Houston escaped late with a 37-35 overtime win against UTSA. And Memphis lost to a high-powered Mississippi State team 49-23.

In major injuries, Cincinatti starting center Jordan Renfroe is likely out for the season. It’s been reported USF wide receiver A. Williams is listed as questionable for Saturday with a hamstring issue. Also major, Tulane starting DT Adonis Friloux is likely out for the season, still not confirmed by their coaching staff. And another blow to an AAC Team, East Carolina DE Jasiyah Robinson is expected to miss the rest of the season . , according to an article in 247 Sports.
