The Clemson Tigers won the ACC Conference in 2024 despite having a 9-3 record during the regular season. Clemson tasted the expanded college football playoffs, but they lost to the Texas Longhorns.

The Tigers have a chance to reach great heights in 2025, and this could be the best team that head coach Dabo Swinney has had since the 2019 season. Clemson has a chance to be in the national title conversation because of quarterback Cade Klubnik. The ACC might not be a strong conference, but Clemson can no doubt compete with anyone in the conference.

Clemson Tigers Quarterback Cade Klubnik Ranked #7 On PFF Top 50 College Football Players Entering 2025 Season

Many are wondering who will be the top quarterbacks in the country for the 2025 season. Pro Football Focus writers Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman think that Klubnik will be the best quarterback in the country entering the season. They have him ranked as the seventh best player in college football entering the 2025 season. They said about the Clemson quarterback,

“There may not have been a more improved quarterback in college football this past season than Klubnik. After placing 102nd among FBS signal-callers in 2023 with a 63.9 PFF passing grade, he ranked fifth in 2024 (87.7). Only Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders threw more touchdowns than the junior (36). Klubnik also ranked fifth in big-time throws (28).

The top quarterback recruit in the 2022 class is finally starting to live up to the hype and has the potential to take a loaded Clemson roster to the promised land as a senior.”

If he were to lead Clemson to a national title, there is a chance that Klubnik could be the first quarterback off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft. During the 2024 season with the Tigers, he completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also rushed for 463 yards on 119 carries and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 3.9 yards per carry.

It will be interesting to see if he can eclipse 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns during his senior season. Clemson will have some tough games out of conference. They will open the season at home against the LSU Tigers in Week 1. Clemson will also have to face the South Caroline Gamecocks in the last regular season game. The Tigers are looking to put themselves into the national championship picture because of Klubnik.
