Colts training camp is underway in Westfield, Indiana and the colt’s offense is wasting no time getting settled. The colts begin training camp with their fifth starting quarterback in as many seasons. New quarterback Matt Ryan is emphasizing playing fast. Ryan wants to make sure his offense is ready for their week one opener against Houston. Ryan said “You can’t waste any time,” Ryan said. “That’s a message for young guys, it can’t wait. It’s every day, it’s every rep we’ve gotta maximize the time we spend out here because before you know it, we’re going to look up, we’re going to be in Houston and we’re going to be keeping score.

Offenses can attack in multiple ways. Some offenses are slow and methodical. Other offenses are up-tempo and operate at a fast pace. The colts can run a fast-paced offense to catch defenses off guard and score quickly. It’s hard for a defense to communicate and line up correctly when offenses speed up the tempo. Defenses won’t know where the ball is going and will have to adjust to a fast-paced offense.
A fast-paced attack can help a dynamic Colts offense. Indianapolis can run the ball with Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Philip Lindsay. Additionally, the colts can move the ball in the air with their big receivers and tight ends. Indy’s skill players can get the ball quickly and have more opportunities to score.

Matt Ryan has been in the NFL for over a decade and has been in multiple offensive systems. Ryan is a smart quarterback who can get his offense lined up in time. He knows where to go with the ball and has seen various defensive coverages during his career. With Ryan’s experience, the Colts can run a fast-paced offense this upcoming season.
