#8 LSU Tigers Fans Erupt Following Viral Post of Legendary 7 OT Thriller

There are many things that should not be mentioned around LSU Tigers fans, and one such thing is a memorable loss to Texas A&M.

Following a big transfer from Ohio State to the LSU Tigers, quarterback Joe Burrow earned the starting role. Burrow led the Tigers to a 10-3 season in 2018 during his first year with the program, defeating the UCF Knights in a bowl game for the team. However, the Tigers suffered one unfortunate loss that season in particular that is still often talked about.

The LSU Tigers faced off against the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field in 2018 and played in a battle to move up the SEC ladder. The Tigers and the Aggies were locked in a tight battle, with the Aggies tying the game for the fourth time to end the fourth-quarter. Both teams entered the first overtime period with 31-points a piece.

What followed was a massive, seven overtime period game that led to a 74-72 win for the Aggies, and one that would go down into the history books. However, for the LSU Tigers fans it was a game that the majority of the fanbase would rather forget about. For the Aggies, it has been a game that has been mentioned nearly every year since the big win for the team.

LSU Tigers Fans Make Fun of Aggies on Social Media Following Post Mentioning Loss

After the ESPN College Football account posted a video recapping the loss, the LSU Tigers fans went to the comments to make fun of the Aggies.

While it was a big and historic win for the Aggies, it was also a regular season game that ultimately did not have a big impact for either team. The Aggies have since created rings for players with the score engraved, as well as cups that were given out to fans at recent LSU-Texas A&M games.

Many LSU Tigers fans feel as though the Aggies have made a bigger deal out of both the win and the game than necessary.

Most of the LSU Tigers fans in the comments spoke about the fact that the Tigers had won the game on multiple occasions, but did not receive the appropriate calls. There were three instances in particular where the Tigers were called for defensive penalties that allowed for the Aggies to score. Some college football fans believe these calls allowed for the Aggies to win the game, while others believe the right calls were made.

Other college football fans took the time to express how the NCAA has “ruined” overtime in college football now with the new rules. Due to the changes in rules, the scores cannot get as high as they once could like they did in the LSU-Texas A&M game.
