Welcome to the fifth installment of this series, which focuses on five more NFL players who either began 2024 as starters or filled in and started most of the season, now in danger of losing their starting jobs. Due to restrictions on live contact and the absence of padded practices during OTAs and mandatory minicamp, position battles do not heat up when training camp begins. Many rookies drafted high are expected to start in Week 1, potentially dethroning current starters at their position.

Green Bay Packers: EDGE Kingsley Enagbare

After trading Preston Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10, Kingsley Enagbare took over as the starter and started seven of the last eight games. He struggled at rushing the passer but performed better against the run, recording 39 tackles, six TFLs, eight quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 17 games and seven starts. Enagbare posted 21 stops, 25 pressures, a 57.8 pass-rushing grade, a 64.5 run-defense grade, and a 56.0 PFF grade.
He will compete against former first-round pick Lukas Van Ness for the starting EDGE rusher position alongside Rashan Gary. So far, LVN has taken first-team reps during the spring and is the favorite. However, with a strong performance in the summer, Enagbare could swing things in his favor.
